OpenMinded,
I have tried this but not lining up the years, what I did was compare games side by side 36 draws apart (like game 100 beside game 136 etc...) and noticed some interesting occurrences. (it's in this thread under "Powerball off the wall theories") I number them in series, but I only keep the data from when the matrix changed (5/53 + 1/42) as I feel this makes it a new game and all prior data is irrelevant (they even used the old beitel criterion machines, where now they use the SmartPlay Halogens.)
I will give it a look, BTW I also keep a side-by-side history with SORT order beside DRAWN order (with the PB column in the middle separating them.)
I track the PB games on 5 separate spreadsheets;
1. Massive stats, has 6 worksheets (Sort order stats[mean, mode, median, average deviation, standard deviation, odd/even, decades, etc...], Draw order stats, Full History [including an expanded frequency counter that shows how many times a number was drawn overall, also by position in both SORT and DRAW order], RND values (based on PRNG "seed hunting", a method still undergoing development), Starting Grid (based on how the numbers appear before they drop them into the machines) and Winners Only (showing only the stats for sets that hit the jackpot). The full history sheet also has a jackpot actual value calculator that figures out what you would win after taxes when taking the cash option, also does it for multiple winner scenarios.
2. Sort Order graph with 6 worksheets (White Ball (WB) 1, WB2, WB3, WB4, WB5, PB, Full) They are basically a sideways graph, rows are numbered 1 to 53 (1 to 42 for PB) and columns match the number of draws... I highlight the drawn number for each draw and then connect them with the line drawing tool in excel, I also count announcer ranges on the individual sheets (what number has followed the current number... if 4 was drawn as WB1, what came after 4 each time it was drawn...) The full sheet is laid out the same, but includes all 6 numbers in each column, color coded for White Ball or Powerball, lets you see out-of-position repeats easier.
3. Sort Order Skip Chart, MASSIVE sheet that has skips for each white ball by each position on one worksheet( too big to fit powerball skips on!), and a worksheet that has the results along with the count of how long it was out before it was hit)
4. RB1 out (Red ball)- skip chart for just the powerball
5. overall skip chart (different results than the sort-order skip chart because it counts all 6 each draw)
The only thing about all of the sheets is that I have not yet figured out how to automate the update procedure, takes me 25 minutes after each draw to do it. I have only been at this since april of last year when I joined the lottery post forum, so I am still learning, but I really feel that I got the stats covered ,just trying now to figure out how to profit from all those crazy numbers....Let us know any more details if you find 'em, sounds interesting!
