Its good that you won, but remember that top prizes are much harder to win. Do you play to win 10 dollars or a top prize?
Good question!
I guess I'm playing to win a top prize, but I'll take any prize I can get given how hard it is to win the top prize.
In other games, such as PowerBall, I play to win a 2nd place prize. (I buy the PowerPlay whenever I play PB, so I'd win 2 million if those numbers hit).
The odds in PB to get 5 white balls are 7 million to 1, which is why I liked Sweet Million so much. Because SM was not pari-mutuel for the first five winners of a jackpot, I used to play the same set of six numbers twice on my ticket. So I would have won 2 million had if I had all 6 numbers. I kind of invented my own "powerplay" in SM, but the odds playing SM were 3.8 million to 1 instead of PB's 7 million to 1.

There is one thing I'm not liking about C4L, but there's nothing that can be done about it. Only time can cure it. There are 24 out of 60 numbers that have never been drawn.
Couple that with the fact that there are a lot of numbers that have hit only once, and you have well over half of the 60 numbers. I wonder how long it will take before there's some decent history. At two drawing per week, it's not gonna be anytime soon.

Someone was lucky enough to hit the jackpot last night. That is if you trust the NY Lottery website. Since they took down the winners atlas I'm skeptical of them. Less transparency is never a good thing...

So the bonus this month is 'Buy any draw game and you MAY receive a FREE C4L ticket'
Well I have NEVER gotten one. But when I got my numbers tonight at a gas station I normally don't go to - I was the only one in there. There are 2 clerks behind the counter. One hands me back my tickets and says to me 'hang on...' the other says to the first 'hey give me that coupon' then I hear the lotto machine give its winning jingle!! They hand me a free qp for C4L!!! The guy says, they have been having problems with them showing up randomly so NYL sent us these coupons to run every now & then to give out free tickets.

Is it Karma?
Good to know Kap! Thanks!
I've been wondering what's up with the free tix. I haven't seen one either, and it's not like I haven't been buying online games.
So they have coupons they can use to create a free C4L ticket? What's to stop a clerk from using them to hand out a free ticket to all of their friends, and not to a guy like me who they don't know?
I would think the NY Lottery would have been smart enough to code the random ticket generator program so that it pumped out a free C4L with just about each andevery online game purchase! It isn't like they'd have pumped out lots of jackpot winners. That wouldn't happen with odds like C4L has to win a jackpot.
This whole promo was not a good idea, and I think they found that out the hard way. The NY Lottery needs to be handing out free C4L tickets like they are candy if they want the game to be successful.

Yeah, the whole "you MAY get a free ticket" idea was stupid. Either do it with every purchase or have it work like the other promos where you get a free ticket with every $X you spend.

Agreed. I think we will see bunch of news storys over the next couple of months about how this promo was abused by the clerks -
