Are lottery pools legal in Michigan?
gmcroman,There are several lottery pool MLM programs that are legal and a few that perform well. As far as starting a lottery pool as an individual I recommend doing in depth research and developing a contract for participants. An illegal lottery is usually set in the context of having to pay a fee to enter into it where lotteries that are free to enter are not bound to the same policies. What I am suggesting is that a safer route is to operate a lottery pool for a lottery that is free to ent

*spin-off* Lottery Pool and buying your own tickets/same numbers
So the question was asked, you are in a lottery pool and you are not allowed to buy your own tickets. I answered that. But here is a curve ball on that question. I run a powerball pool and you are allowed to buy your own tickets. I buy my own too, but not when I purchase for the pool. What we do is pay for advance plays for the month and they are all QP, and I email the tickets prior to the first drawing of the month. But what if one of my players decides to get a ticket for themselves (

Lottery Pool, should I do quick pick?
If you've got a written agreement that anticipates any problems it's not a big deal whether you play QP or choose your own numbers. I'd generally suggest the same set of numbers every time, because the pool agreement can list the numbers, making it extremely clear which tickets belong to the pool, If you always buy a month's worth of tickets that's almost as good, assuming the buyer doesn't also buy personal tickets for an entire month. Either way, your agreement should cover who buys the ticket

Tonight of nbc investagates
That happened a few years back in one of the New England states. A couple were going out of state to buy lottery tickets for PowerBall and co-workers of the wife asked if she would pickup 50 QPs for the office pool. The couple bought the 50 QP for the office pool and bought 20 QP for themselves which won the jackpot. The office pool went to court to try and make the couple share their jackpot with them but they had bought two batches of tickets at different times and the winning ticket was in th

Can this be turned into a system?
Jokerh, my input...increase your number pool to about half of the number pool and use a RNG to make your selections from that. Just my opinion, but if you're getting 1-3 right from a smaller number pool you might have all the numbers in your larger pool and let an RNG try to catch it for you from the larger pool. You are doing something right to get your 1-3 right from a 10-12 number pool...carry it on to a 25 number pool and you might have all five in your pool. You've already lowered your o

SoCal man sues to get share of $315 million lottery jackpot
Agree to pool rules and stick to them. I would be very cautious about two important areas when running a Pool. Firstly have strict contribution rules and enforcement of the failure to contribute situation. This one point seems to be the number one point of contention in the lawsuits we read about. Secondly, I feel very strongly that the Pool Manager should avoid any suspicion of impropriety by avoiding buying his own tickets outside the Pool. There's a real conflict of interest situation if t

MegaMillions numbers pool
I've been trying to come up with a pool of numbers to play MegaMillions that didn't include all 52 numbers. I've noticed that during the last 215 drawings, a pool of numbers that had been drawn during the previous 15 drawings would have contained 36-45 numbers and would have had all 5 winning numbers 66 of those times and 4 or the winnings numbers 82 of those times. Tonight that pool would include 39 numbers.During the last 194 drawings, a pool of megaball numbers that had not be drawn during

So what would the "Holy Grail" of Pick 3 playing be?
What would the Holy Grail of playing the Pick 3 game look like?... Unless the game is completely corrupt (which it's not), it's not knowing the winning number in advance, because that's literally impossible. But unless you believe the games (i.e., that aren't run off falling balls) are just randomly picking any number from 000-999 using no factors whatsoever there has to be a reduced pool of numbers at work in any given play. And we here on lp all use filters to sift whatever pools we've impr
