Jackpot winner: winning the lottery is too good to be true because of the fallout that comes after By Kate Northrop A $70 million Powerball lottery winner from Michigan, who won the jackpot back in 2020 , has come forward to argue that lottery winners should be able to choose to remain anonymous. I don't need to decode to figure it out as soon as I see the numbers I know what's the difference. They're just trying to put a story in the press to get money out of it.

New Jersey woman to take legal action against Atlantic City casino after being refused $2.5M payout
The attendant's actions are tantamount to trying to destroy evidence. Also the fact that they tried to offer her $350.00 ( hush money) is an admission of fault. And the excuse that the digital(computer) doesn't match up with the mechanical (analog) is laughable. How do we know if there is a default system installed that purposely misaligns the computer and the analog after a jackpot is hit? Hopefully she has a good lawyer -- looks like she has a good case.

Florida lottery winners suspect state "system error" is blocking prize payouts
Simple math. Don't play trips or quads. That's $10 to $20 a game, or $5 to $10 per game. Simple math. In this game, conspiracy theories run rampant. My comment would be, doesn't the lottery always say, we're not trying not to pay people. Show me the money.

North Carolina 18-year-old wins $1 million in lottery after asking sister to buy ticket for him
Some say one should only spend a years worth of take home salary on a new car. He can get a 2025 Subaru or other decent hybrid luxury/budget vehicle with a take home pay of $35k a year from winnings that would still last when the last check arrives in 2043. $100/day 4 Twenty Years is not a lot of money to be spending on an Audi and it's collateral costs (high insurance rates, exotic tax, rare parts that are expensive, higher car problems than other luxury car brands, increased chance of traffic

$1.3 billion Mega Millions lottery winner's family sues him for not sharing jackpot
Except you don't know if that's actually the case. As I said before, if this was only about him battling with Sara and him being in the wrong then John Sr would simply have sided with Sara publicly and defended her. Instead he's suing his son for a share of the winnings so this is very much about the money for him. The fact that in the midst of all this acrimony wealth John hasn't tried to go for custody is also telling. Why hasn't he if he's supposedly using his child to get back at Sara.

$1.3 billion Mega Millions lottery winner's family sues him for not sharing jackpot
The entire family loves drama. This is why you cannot buy the silence of someone with lottery money. It just does not work out vs a regular NDA in other situations.

Virginia Lottery retailers escalate boycott, halt ALL lottery ticket sales until further notice
They pass laws that favor the casinos/ and big corporations. That's how lobbying works. I find it ironic that the store owners, some of whom owns multiple stores are resorting to boycotting, which is basically a grass roots effort to try and change policies of the ruling class. It might work considering how much money they will lose.

Virginia Lottery retailers refuse to sell tickets to draw attention to skill games amendment
It is good they are going to regulate it. If you decide to play skill games in any other state, there is no protections from you being cheated. The owner could set the machine to have a 0% return to player and you would never know it. This bill is not a punishment but rather a way to offer players the same protections that casinos have. Regulating cost money, hence the fees.
