So, like many here I'm sure, I usually will buy a whole pack of tickets and I check the guaranteed amount. Was looking at the $50 pack, 2358 and it's $1000 a pack and only has a guaranteed amount of $275. Think that's one of the worst I've ever seen for such a huge ticket. Why would it be that bad???

I rarely buy scratchers but I do like to look at the odds and the guarantees. Most packs will guarantee 40% - 50% of the cost of a pack. 27.5% is criminal. I would never buy a ticket from a game with that low of a guarantee.
I play all of the jackpot draw games, but the one benefit of a scratch ticket that pays out a million dollars or more is the odds are much better than Lotto or PB and MM, along with the overall odds of winning any prize. The obvious negative is the cost of a scratcher that pays that much, opposed to the cost of a MM or PB, or Lotto ticket.
That all brings up my biggest complaint of the Texas Lottery, and that is the payouts of the Texas games are woefully low for the odds of a particular game.
