As you can see, the Day draw vs Night draw trips lately have tended to fall in runs of four or five with a few scattered singles or doubles in between.
But, if you count the number of Day vs Night trips, you will find that Night trips are leading the series by a score of 87 to 81.
By far the most interesting run was the 2017 run of four Day trips then on 4/17/2017 they drew Day and Night trips on the same day followed by a run of four Night trips. Here is that segment of the chart:

Stuff like this can fool you into thinking the trips are predictable, but if you look further up the chart you can see stretches where fewer runs of trips happened.
The truth is, this is how random numbers behave, as you can discover for yourself with a penny. Just flip the penny a hundred times and keep track of heads and tails as you go. Think of heads as Day and tails as Night and do a quick chart for yourself and you will see behavior just like the above chart. Instead of H, T, H, T, H, H, T like you might expect, what you will get is lots of runs of each like what the lottery drew for Day and Night. It's just the nature of the beast. That's why you'll hear me say that I look for a workup or a player to hit twice then I play the third time in hopes of riding that streak. Then I stop. It's been extremely rare to see a streak of any kind run past three.
