  Based on that we should have a jackpot this size once a year for Mega Millions. 

  Powerball should have a jackpot this size once a year as well since the odds are about the same.

  PB changed to the current matrix on October 4, 2015 and produced the $1.586 billion annuity jackpot just over 3 months later on January 16th. Perhaps you've noticed that we haven't had another 10 PB jackpots of that size?
