I was checking that one out the other day. Looks kinda iffy to me?
My math might need to be double checked but wouldn't they need to sell at least 237,000 of the 300,000 tickets just to cover the payout of all prizes? But so far they have only sold 36,833 (as of my post time). Only 30 days left until the drawing and the tickets don't seem to be selling all that well (probably combination of $50 price, lack of entertainment in the form of choosing one's own numbers as is the case with all raffles, and then unclear rules..).
Noticed it specifies the drawing date is "on or after" the 19th. Says ticket sales will end no later than 1:59am on the day of the drawing. But again the day of the drawing is up in the air, as it could be any day "after" the 19th. So they could wind up needing to extend this thing for a while if tickets don't sell that well. People could wind up holding onto a $50 ticket for months.
Or what happens if not many tickets sell, no way they will take hit of millions not covered by revenue from the raffle so... either it gets extended for some mysterious length of time, or..
I mean there is nothing about guaranteed winners, and I would figure if there were guaranteed winners that would be in the marketing ads for it, as part of the sales pitch.
Just seems too possible that not enough tickets will sell, and the raffle drawing might just so happen to not match anyone's ticket number for the big prizes, so then that's thousands of people sitting there having spent $50 on a ticket and nobody wins the big prizes.
Whole thing seems to sketchy to spend $50 on a single ticket, to me anyway. My current weekly bankroll is $20 so that's more than 2 weeks' worth.
