  Math seems to take second place to people who want to play real bad. 

  For some people it's not even about wining or losing, they just want to be 'in action', i.e. have money riding on something.

  Those who run the lotteries love it when players look for consistency in something that's designed not to have any. So many systems, so many theories, so few jackpot winners. 

  

  There is one and only one 'proven' system, and that is to book the action. No matter the game, let the players pick their own losers.

  I enjoy using statistics to try an determine wither or not I maybe able to figure out a group of numbers that maybe randomly chosen in any of the lotto's, like Mega Millions, Powerball or my own state's lotto. However, one thing I have learned with using mathematics in analysis of lotto numbers is that some items can have the same trend and a positive correlation, and yet there maybe no cause and effect relationship between them. In a truly random situation; such as with lotteries, a person or computer will never completely develop a method to predict actual winning numbers. Meaning a system that can; at a push of a button, generate 6 numbers or 5+1 numbers that could actual be the winning ticket, is not possible. Mathematical models show that each lotto line has the same probability of winning, and that each number has the same probability of being drawn. I would think caution should be used by anyone who encounters a person or "system" that claims theirs will make you the next winner.
  
  I do enjoy playing the lotto's, and analysing their numbers and  patterns. I feel that using statistics can give a possibility of a group of numbers that have a greater chance of being selected. It is from this group I choose my number lines to play. I group the numbers in a wheeling system for my number line selection,but still on the draw night I realize it will be a random event.

  Personally, I think of random like any other complex thing- It is a system, with behaviors, characteristics and rules. 

  Trees... Trees are each unique, but in understanding them, they become predictable. The roots will always seek the soil, the leaves the sun, and the trunk is always in the middle.

  Much like the tree, if you look at random from enough different perspectives, the similarities become clear.

  Since there are no mathematics calculations going on in an active lottery drawing machine,

  all mathematical computations relating to machine outputs are man-made.
  The lottery machines have no memory, therefore, it's folly to think that  future outputs will support or confirm anything 'man' has come up with.
  Lottery mathematics is actually falsehoods being spread by fake prophets.
  The only people who profit from 'made up' statistics are the lottery banks.

  If I drop a rock of set mass, from a set height, it will always fall to the ground in the same amount of time. No matter how many times I repeat the process, it will always be the same. Physics tells us that given the mass of the stone, the height, and negligible wind resistance, the time to the ground can be calculated.

  Physics and math experiments have shown this is constant and predicable, so it is accepted as a scientific law.

  Is it impossible that doing the same process repeatedly will result in predicable results?

  Draw 5 numbers at random out of a pool 10 numbers (1-10) .

  How many will be odd?

  Odd\Even	Chance
  0	0.4%
  1	9.9%
  2	39.7%
  3	39.7%
  4	9.9%
  5	0.4%

  This isn't heresy- it's just math...

  Compare the number of combinations that can be made with X odd numbers to the total number of possible combinations, and that is how those percentages are found.

  Actually the drawing results fall in line with the statistical probabilities. Combinations of odd and even numbers, high and low and even the general frequency in which a number will appear all fall within their statistical chances and that is actually what the casinos and lottery agencies are counting on. What they hate are statistical anomalies as those are what people try to exploit.

  Problem with math is first finding the numbers, second eliminating the ones that don't matter, and third figuring out what to do with the ones that do. The only way that I see is by using an example and trying to replicate the same thing. However in lottery games that doesn't happen as much as I would like to believe it should. There's many ways that numbers derived from math in lottery games can be used. It's more than just the number drawn. I still can't figure out why these numbers that are relevant apply to each game in the way that they do, if a pattern or example is followed it's usually no more than three times in a row. Occasionally you will get the same day of the week also, etc.

  Sometimes you do the right thing just because it’s right.

  Life's a game of mathematics, if you can't figure that out I don't know what to tell you.

  Do we agree that, discounting exploits, we are looking for bell curves. Once found, we remove the tails (outliers), leaving the center of the bells. 

  We then are attempting to find a way to combine the bell centers into a useful method to generate a number combination?

  Yes I mean that could work. Focus is what is needed. Elimination should not be ignored. And perhaps repetition as well just to see. I use formulas that work and repeatedly work, it's just determining the time that they do is the hard part. I'll always believe that there's a way right before the number is drawn to determine what the number will be, via math et al. Unfortunately the way the numbers are drawn become more and more complicated nowadays, with delays etc and certain numbers being favored over other numbers, it can be stressful and a little confusing.. I think really in terms of really wanting to win. You just need to look at the numbers and let the way come to you , whatever way comes to mind. Chances are you will see something. And also playing everyday can throw you off. The more you wait for the right time the more focus you'll have and less numbers in your head so you can really pick the right one. I have used bell curves to determine sums to look at, I kind of get what you're saying I haven't put much time into that but I've seen that it is a good idea. Digit Frequency also bell curve

  You boiled down most systems that many players use.  Does it mean that you will win?   No, but it is fun to play with the numbers.

  Remember the legendary Nick the Greek gambler? A paraphrase from him said the second biggest high he got after winning, was losing!

  On the other hand - another important player tell is that it seems, most serious male players really don't care about the odds, whether their methodology is right or wrong or even legal or illegal - only really care about how to win (even over sex)

  It has come to my understanding, from a very long time of playing with different ways of figuring out the numbers, that until the states bring back the number balls, and get totally away from the RNG's, there will not be any true random picks made from the lottery commission! The old ways of picking numbers by the states were to use the number balls that were different grams weight. Each time the drawing were to be called, they would use the first gram set to see if there were any repeated and or pattern sets made from the gram set of balls. If so, they would move on to the next set of gram ball set, and so fourth until they found a gram set of balls that didn't leave any or very little set of repeats of patterns. I don't know about other states, but in Washington State they stop selling tickets at 7:45 p.m. for the drawing at 8:00 p.m., and that leaves a 15 minute window span to see who picked what  numbers. Then after they figure out who picked what, the RNG program can pick numbers that comes close but never give you the lottery!!! Pretty Sad...
