Well. I'm gonna impart some advice since this will happen eventually.
My step dad plays scratchoffs so I start being more open about my everyday scratching. Hit a bit of a hot streak, including a 45 on a 3 today. But now... suddenly I have a problem. I'm ahead right now(. For life, no, but personal finance should never be anyone else's business)
You see, I have this mental list of who not to talk to about lottery, and it really sucks to add my family to it. It's necessary though. The people who condemn gambling will be the first to ask for a cut of whatever big prize you win. It's always in the news, and it ruins once strong relationships.
Do yourself a favour and DON'T share lottery goings on with people you know unless they are bigger gambler s than you. Otherwise you'll get "there's a number on the back of the ticket", "what could I do with all that money you wasted", or "good now you can help me pay for X".
Seriously. Like, if you start again, keep it like a double life. It worked for me for the past five years until I let my guard down a few months ago. Also, 800 is nothing. I was down about 20000 one year, the first year I had a full-time job. I'm fine now. Never really missed it. Just learned how to live simply, which means I could save 99% of my income if I wanted to, but that's no fun.
Uhh. A job isn't a bad idea btw. Not too hard to get either. Having your own disposable income flooding in, you can do all sorts of things like not worry about what other people say about gambling because it's your money and they can (snip) off.
