MaxMin Digit Filter

Hello Everyone:
Here is an interesting filter, which may help you to narrow down your selections in the Pick3, especially if you are considering combos. I call it the MaxMin Digit filter.
This filter takes into consideration the position of the maximum and minimum of the three digits of any given number.
For numbers with no matches, the maximum digit can be in any one of three positions. For two maching numbers, the maximum digit can be situated in any one of two positions, provided the doubled digit is the largest of the two. If the non-doubled digit is the maximum digit, then it can be situated in any one of three places. It should be obvious that for triples, each digit is considered the maximum digit and occupies all three positions.
Analogously, we can replace the word maximum by minimum, and form a minimum digit filter, with the same percentages
of occurence as the maximum digit filter. What is interesting about the MaxMin digit filter, is that given any one of the three digits of a pick3 number, it is not necessarily the maximum or minimum digit of the number. For example in the number 246, position 2 contains neither a maximum or minimum digit, since 4 lies between 2 and 6.
Let's look at some examples. For the number 876, the maximum digit is 8, and it occupies the first position. The minimum digit is 6, occupying position 3. For this same example, position 2 contains neither a maximum or minimum digit. For the number 998, the maximum digit is nine, and it occupies the first and second positions. The minimum digit is 8, and it occupies position 3.
Having said all of this, for any one given position, there are 340 out of the 1000 possible numbers, in which the maximum or minimum digit occupies that position. Thus in a group of given results we would expect to find that the maximum or minimum digit occupies a particular position about 34% of the time, or approximately 1 in 3. The probability that a given position contains neither a maximum or minimum digit is 32%, very close to the maximum or minimum digit occurence.
Let's now look at how to apply the MaxMin digit filter. looking at the NY Eve Pick3 as of 06/07/2004 and going back 15 draws, the results were as follows from most to less recent:
From these 15 results we would expect to find approximately 5 each of a maximum, minimum, and no minimum or maximum digit in any one position, (1/3*15). Applying the MaxMin analysis to the second position, there are only 2 numbers having no maximum or minimum in that position, (945 and 078). This falls considerably below the expected number 5, so we might want to limit our selections on the next several plays to those numbers having no maximum or minimum digit in position 2. On 06/10/2004, two days later, the number 246 came out.
Here's the icing on the cake: VB34's Bet Wizard, on 06/08/2004, generated 23 recommended combos for play, all no match selections, and as you might have guessed 246 was one of them. In looking for a no minimum and no maximum in a given position, there's only one way a no match selection could fall.
There is a pattern he states , I want to explore the validity
of the expectations claimed:
From these 15 results we would expect to find approximately 5 each of a maximum, minimum, and no minimum or maximum digit in any one position, (1/3*15).

There are 1000 straight pick 3 numbers of those:
720 Are Singles and they are 6 ways numbers, that is, they have 6 permutations: 123, 132, 231, 213, 312 and 321.
Each of those permutations is made out of 120 (Box) pick 3 numbers, such as:
The digit that comes out the most is the 0 followed by the 1 then the 2 then the 3 then the 4, Etc.
On the Rth or 3rd position the digit that should come out the most is the 9 followed by the 8 then the 7 then the 6 then the 5, Etc
On the Middle positon I don't quite recall, but things are not quite the same the chances of digits being in the Middle position are a little more even that is their probable distribution:
Digits 4 and 5 might have a little more chance of being in the Middle postion, then follow digits 3 and 6 then follow 2 and 7 then 1 and 8, Etc.

I am tired and can't tell if I made mistakes or not there, but if I didn't it can be seen that most of the time the permutation patterns don't repeat from last to the very next draw in sequence, but sometimes they repeat once, at least on those few past draws, sometime it takes a few draws before some of the Singles permutations repeat, each of the 6 singles permutations is worth 1/6 of the total 720 straight pick 3 numbers and each of the 3 doubles permutations is worth 1/3 of the total straight doubles. ------------------- A little more next.
As there are 1000 straight pick 3 numbers 240 pick 3 numbers are equal to maybe about 24% of the time and also 24% of the total 1000 pick 3 numbbers so a person should expect them to come out about 24% of the time, but of course things are not perfect, some numbers might come and even repeat while others might take longer to show up.
The very same for any of the several 240 pick 3 numbers groups.

So if you filter out all the straight pick 3 numbers that have a Highest Digit on the Lth or 1st position you will be filtering out 240 straight pick 3 numbers that is 24%, almost 1/4 of all the total straight pick 3 numbers.
Same for any of the other several groups of 240 straight pick 3 numbers.

For an example let us take the Highest digit in the Lth position first from oldest to newest past draws, Singles only for this example:
Pennsylvania (PA) Daily Number Midday
Mon, Feb 10, 2014 5-2-6 Sun, Feb 09, 2014 1-8-3 Won.
Sat, Feb 08, 2014 7-9-3 Filter out.
Fri, Feb 07, 2014 4-9-8 Won.
Thu, Feb 06, 2014 7-5-1 Lost. Filter out again.
Wed, Feb 05, 2014 9-3-2 Filter out.
Tue, Feb 04, 2014 5-4-6 Mon, Feb 03, 2014 0-5-7 Last Won.
Sun, Feb 02, 2014 9-0-4 Filter out.
Sat, Feb 01, 2014 0-5-8 Fri, Jan 31, 2014 0-2-5 Last filtration Won.
Thu, Jan 30, 2014 9-7-6 Last filtration lost. Next filter out again.
Wed, Jan 29, 2014 9-2-7 Filter out for next draw (All pick 3 numbers with Highest on 1st).
Tue, Jan 28, 2014 2-2-4 Mon, Jan 27, 2014 1-5-9 Sun, Jan 26, 2014 4-9-1 Last filtration Won. Took 2 draws due to the Double.
Sat, Jan 25, 2014 4-2-2 Fri, Jan 24, 2014 3-0-1 Filter out for next draw (All pick 3 numbers with Highest on 1st).
Thu, Jan 23, 2014 3-3-9 Wed, Jan 22, 2014 2-1-2 Tue, Jan 21, 2014 9-4-4 ------------
It worked out about half and half.
As used and as seen there not so good as a "Filter Out" and neither as a "Filter In" for making predictions.
But those were just a few past draws.
Maybe if a person tracks the stats with Math and software in a large scale maybe a person would be able to better predict.
-----------
But in those few past draws it is seen that at the most the Highest digit repeated in the 1st position right away in sequence just once, that is not 2 draws in sequence.
Thatr might be of use, after all it filters out about 1/4 of all the 720 straight singles for each pattern filtered out.
And there are always "Filters tricks" that might be of use.
--------------------
Well, on this, for me, it is quits, at least for a while, I am tired.

The outcome of the event is discrete values, parametric percentiles are just information for information sake, their broad brushes which every player is aware of. We need to think outside the box with new approach, a good start will be the POOL.
THE POOL> Is a domain with discrete values identified with 0,1.......9, the behavior of these values is mutually escusive, hence historical data analysis will fall short of any intepretation, SIMULATION of the POOL will be closer to discrete distrubution(Not parametric percentiles, which is Continous distrubution) and eventually enhance predictability of POSITIONAL PAIRS/TRIADS. Lets take PA results(qouted TEXT) and simulated each draw set for PAIRS>

Thats the figure I'm getting too
I do'nt know where he's getting a 340 count.
You broke it down like no one else could..
I have a better understanding.
Much gratitude as Iread more into your response.

But that can't be used as it is by itself as 240 straight numbers are way too many you also need to track those 3 groups of 240 numbers each and see which numbers are due and or more likely due to come out next or soon.
For the Highest digit there 240 numbers for the 1st position and another 240 for the 2nd position and another 240 for the 3rd position, Tracking of digits needs to be used together with this filtration in prediction method.

Take a good look at all the Highest Digits on each of the Straight pick 3 numbers.
Do you see all of the 9s?
It is as I posted earlier, the same might or should be true for the Lowest and a little less true for the Middle digits as the Middle Digits are more uniform in their distribution.
