Here is my scratch off method.
I only buy tickets 5 at a time. Regardless of the $ amount I always buy 5. If I have an extra $100 i will buy 5 20's. The secret is, buy them off of the same roll. 8 times out of 10 I win my money back at the very least. I have had very good luck lately. I have hit for $100 4 times in the past 3 days alone on tickets from $5-$10. Im having my best luck on the BWS and $5 Monopoly tix. Just this morning I hit for $170 on 5 BWS. Best 5 I have bought in a while. Anyway, if you dont have the money to buy 5 $20 in a row, dont bother. You're throwing you're money away. Same goes for the rest of the tickets. Since I started using this method I have dont much better and come out ahead more often than not.
I have had 5 in a row lose, but not an anything higher than $5. The $10-$20 always hit within 5 it seems.
I only play at VERY busy stores. The 7/11 by my home sells more than 2k per day (large elderly community near by). I buy ALL of my tix there and always from the cashier. I ask what has been hitting and STAY away from whatever he replies with. I then ask what game has not payed out on that certain day and ALWAYS play those games. I think this method helps a lot because some games have already produced good winners in the past few hours. I want a game that has not.

I have 5 consecutive $20 tickets that I found in the trash, 004, 005, 006, 007, 008. All from the same book. 5 in a row. $100 wasted. 009 is missing, but then comes 010. This sucker probably spent $120, and won what? A free ticket? $50? $100 if they are super lucky, and even then they still lost $20. We will never know, but my guess is that that person left the store with substantially less money in their pocket than when they went in.
I finally got up the courage to buy my very first $20 ticket today, but I ended up losing. I bought 2 $5 tickets and lost, then 2 more from the same book and won $40. If not for going back and spending that extra $10, I would have lost $30. As it turns out I won $40, but I spent $40 to win it, so I am no better off. I am actually worse, having burned gasoline going up there twice. I am glad I got that out of my system. I do not plan on making a regular habit out of buying $20 tickets, and if I do, I will buy them 1 at a time. The worst possible thing in my mind at least (other than not winning at all) is buying a bunch of tickets, only to find that the first one in the series was the winner!
I think there is an ancient Chinese proverb that says it is better to risk losing $5 or $10, on a $5 ticket, than it is to spend $25 and still possibly not win.
I may have repeated myself, but there is some good info there.
Another new idea that I am trying to practice is saving my winning tickets for a period of time, and then cashing them in. That way I don't spend all of my winnings on new tickets. It is almost like having a savings account. I did spend a small winner of $6 on a new $5 ticket, and a $1 ticket. I won $20, so that was good. I will buy $1 tickets sometimes, mainly to make change, or to round off a number.

Jumbo Jumbo Bucks has been around for quite a while. There are only 28 out of 120 top prizes left. I do not think you have this game in TN, or at least I did not see it listed on the TN website. A lot of the games seem the same, but I was surprised to see that Jingle Jumbo Bucks was only $250,000 in TN whereas the top prize in GA is $750,000. It might be that TN has more top prizes, but they are smaller.
I have nearly given up on Jingle Jumbo Bucks. I have never won more than $20, and it sure eats up money fast, if you let it. I would not be nearly as far behind on scratch-offs if I had not played it. It is next on my list to figure out exactly what it has done. Pending research has led me to the conclusion that the problem might lie in the store and not the ticket, but I will have to see. I have found that this certain high volume store that I have referred to may be bleeding me dry. More on that later. I will have to do some experimenting, but I find $5 tickets a lot more palatable than $10 tickets.
It is funny that you mention Giant Jumbo Bucks. I just started pouring over my records, and most of my winners were for $5, which is nothing, especially when you paid that for it. My records show that I have also won $20 and $25.
Game Name Ticket Price Top Prize Claimed Total Left % Gone Odds
GIANT JUMBO BUCKS $5 $150,000 329 368 39 89.40% 1 in 3.27
JINGLE JUMBO BUCKS $10 $750,000 1 5 4 20.00% 1 in 2.74
JUMBO BUCKS CLASSIC $2 $50,000 1427 1474 47 96.81% 1 in 4.21
JUMBO JUMBO BUCKS $10 $500,000 92 120 28 76.67% 1 in 2.56
JUNIOR JUMBO BUCKS $1 $10,000 840 863 23 97.33% 1 in 4.69
I would never consider playing the $1 or $2 Jumbo Bucks series. If almost all of the top prizes are gone, then so are all of the other decent prizes. They should discontinue those; they have mostly played out. Giant Jumbo Bucks is also nearly done, and I am mostly done with it. It will be few and far between. I don't know, I may try it a little more. As far as a ticket, almost all retailers around here will offer you cash, even if it it only says ticket.
Good luck.
Jumbo Jumbo was a little hard to find in GA. Given I only looked in a handful of stores, it still seemed to be the odd man out.
Jingle Jumbo was sold out a few times but one store I actually asked for JUMBO Jumbo and she brought out a new pack of JINGLE jumbo, which I was happy with (especially after it was a winner -- albeit a TICKET...i went on to lose it anyway on the North side of ATL).
I played Jingle Jumbo last year for the first time. I was happy to see it in TN with the great odds it had. So when I see the top prize was HALF A MILLION DOLLARS more in GA, I was all about it. As for why TN's is so much less, maybe because GA has been doing lotteyr longer and has more to put out there? I wish I knew. At least it isnt like KY or SC which has lesser top prizes (especially KY which is dreadful...I dont touch scratch offs there).
TN pours a lot more prizes into GIANT and regular Jumbo bucks, and when they run out they do a refresh (i.e. Giant Jumbo used to be 200- series, now is 245-.) I keep telling myself to stick with those games as the $5 ones, and I do when I plya them but latetly I have been trying some of the other $2 ones --only until the top prizes get won which doesnt take long since they only start with about 3 or 4. Except of course for the Jumbos!
Thanks for the input CarHauler, it is very helpful and informative!

Good win tonight. Bought 5 $20 Million Dollar Cash Fever tickets. Nummber 11, 12, 13, 14, 15. Hit for $100 on number 11, $500 on number 13, and received my money back on number 14 winning $20. Total $620-$100 spent for total winnings of $520. Not a bad night, and another win for my scratch off method. -JJ

I buy TN 2 dollar jumbo bucks 10 at a time. Here lately i have had 1 winner out of 10 fo 2 dollars
or a ticket. This has happened several times. This knocks the 1 in 4.21 odds in the head

doesn't it.
I agree...that game sucks when it sucks but is ok when it is ok. highest i ever hit on that is $30 but usually like you say the odds are worse than they advertize.

Excellent, and congratulatons on this nice hit!
is that your method -- to buy 5 at a time?
Do you buy the $20 ones often?
Here in TN I could only imagine the trouble I would be in if I bought 5 of the $20 ones each time. I have done it once or twice and it didnt end well.
Very interesting they would separate the 100 and 500 winner by one losing ticket. If I play in the store I often play one more if I win, figuring they will be back to back but spaced out just by one -- man i would be mad to learn that I missed it by that much!
You got in just at the right time - good luck on your next score!
