This happened in Las Vegas on a Memorial Day weekend in the late 1980's.
(The pending numbers thread made me think of this, not quite pending numbers but this is a story of some kind of "influence").
There's a hotel in Las Vegas that caters to the Hawaiin trade. Hawaii is a very pro-labor union state. On this particular weekend, the hotel owners (mutliple properties) had some kind of labor dispute going on with on of their other properties.
The Hawaiins got wind of this and rounded up people, lots of people, to march around this one hotel / casino with signs that read "Boce Boyd" and chanting "Boce Boyd" (bad luck to Boyd).
The next night a Hawaiin fellow was the shooter on a crap table and rolled the dice for an oncredible 3 hours and 6 minutes. (This is a "monster" of a roll and definitley not the norm.) That one table alone lost $750,000 on his roll.
Coincidence, or ????
Thanks Coin Toss. I just shared this with my husband. We were in Atlantic city last night. I can only say........The Crap tables were not good to us last night.
A 3hour and 6 minute roll!!! WOW, what a fantasy that invokes.
