Most people don't realize that what ROSA did was carefully planed. It was not a spur of the moment thing. It was well orchrasted. Another female wanted to be arrested on the bus; but because her arrest record wasn't spotless, Rosa was chosen. "FREEDOM ISN'T FREE"

I don't understand posts like yours.
yes there were several persons who refused to move from the 'mixed seats' to the back of the bus before miss parks. there were 2 or 3 other women who were arrested at the same time.
given the climate and the times, the need for some type of 'purity of character' was actually a very good one. the civil rights movement was already smeared as the work of 'commie agitators'.... with 'good americans' adamant and serious that only communists would want to ensure that minorities had equal rights under the law.
How sad, that a pregnant 15 year old would not inspire revulsion towards the white person -- male or female -- who would demand that she stand so that they may seat; but would inspire revulsion towards that pregnant 15 year old for being pregnant. And yet that was the climate in America, American hypocrisy twice over.
How sad, moreover, that supporting the United States meant supporting apartheid and Jim Crow. Godless communists, indeed.
Rosa was a woman who was a freedom fighter for ALL people's rights before she premeditated that she wasn't going to move from her seat.
Instead of trying to snark at her for her rebellion being 'planned' (as if MANY african-americans didn't think the exact same thing as she but were afraid of being beaten, or jailed, or killed?... as if Rosa happened in a vacuum?), appreciate that the evil is that such a small but forceful act had to be 'planned' in the first place! Such laws should never have been on the books in the first place, and yet they were, because of just how racist the United States was, and how overt the United States was in its racism. American apartheid, indeed.
The fact that ridership stopped for an ENTIRE YEAR, and how it crippled the bus industry -- an industry that only made money when its ridership, the majority of its riders felt cowed into going along with the system in spite of providing the capital that allowed the industry to boom in the first place -- points to just how upset people were. All it took was one person. Planned or not, that one person was the 'never hurt anybody' Rosa Parks.

Isn't it strange that, this week the liberal media and black leadership spewed forth a million lines of news about someone complaining about losing a seat on a bus, and the same liberal media and black leadership spent 30-seconds complaining about the black New Orleans Mayor (and his fellow gang of black crooks) failing to provide buses for his black population!
Where are the Jesse Jacksons bigot type of leadership in 2005? Obviously, no donations to be made from blacks when you complain about fellow blacks. The finger ALWAYS points in only one direction. Complaints, and self-destructive riots, can only be made when there is a white person to blame.

The reason there were no busses available was because all the bus drivers were forced to evacuate prior to the storm.
Chewie...What would Al Sharpton do if Tawana Brawley was a white chic?
As far as Rosa....well, rest in peace...in that big bus in the sky.....
The Bus Drivers must have hitched rides with the Police caravans leaving the city; there is plenty of room in the backseat of Cadillacs. Kind of strange they "confiscated" Cadillacs .. humm. Of course, had the Mayor executed his disaster plan, instead of piddiling around estimating deaths and causing turmoil, there would have been Bus Drivers. Strange how it goes back to an incompetent Mayor - who can't be blamed.
Sharpton never apologized for blantantly lying about that woman. The whole thing was a hoax, he knew it was a hoax, but never admitted it - would have destroyed the "any excuse for a riot is a good excuse" theory. That from a black leader AND a man of God. The Reverand Sharpton has made a living out of making the plight of a black person as bad as can be made. Makes you wonder.

LOL....I do agree with most of what you're saying,,,however I did watch the news people having to bleep some of what the mayor was saying on the air, live, because of his frustration of not getting help from the upper crust.
I was watching it live, and it went on for a good portion of that day. Or was that all an act?
Who knows....
Also people.....beware....It was on the news that a lot of car dealers were trying to sell thousands and thousands of new cars that had water damage, from that area, to other states, without telling people the cars had the damage. So do the investigation if you are planning to buy a new car.

Like I saiid, the finger will never point inward. This is the same speech after speech and news conference after new conference that laid the blame on every one else but him. He also predicted thousand upon thousands of deaths in those speeches. Can't get support if the death toll was only a hundred or so. He saw the handwriting on the wall, and knew he had to start covering his bases.
If you are the Mayor, you are the leader of the city. Plain and simple. No if, ands, or buts. He was elected to lead, not look upward. Joe Smoe, cleaning toilets on Bourban Street, can look up; not the Mayor. Mayor G, in NYC, managed to keep the city from falling apart after 911. Whats the difference between Brown and Giuliani? One was a leader and the other was useless. Take away his index finger, and he couldn't lead a pie eating contest.l
