Texas All or Nothing
I'm surprised they don't have a self serve vending machine. I buy my tics at Tom Thumb and unless I have a winning tic (almost never LOL) or don't have exact change I'll use the vending machine. Always quicker too. I guess I just assumed they put those machines in all the grocery stores.
Sorry to hear about that bit of bad luck. But you're on the right track.

Playing every ticket from a machine.
Whoa! $1000 hit on your vending machine sweep! Outstanding! Congrats dr65!!!
There seems to be a trend here...not a bad idea to try this vending machine challenge once in a while. The results might surprise you.

What is your opinion about buying scratch offs out of a vending machine?
Well considering that I see people in the store scratching and then getting (if that card is not a winner) back in line to buy another, I can see where the vending machine would work faster. But some people believe there are more winning tickets in the vending machine than at the counter.
How can this be, that is if it is true?

Have self-serve lottery machines, but can't pay out any tickets? (Rite-Aid in Ohio)
It sounds like the Ohio Lottery is putting self-service vending machines in stores without regular lottery terminals. KY has similar vending machines and instructions on the machine are simple; the machines only give credits for purchases. The idea is obvious, it's for scratch-off players. The machines do have online games, but it's either buy QPs or use playslips.
If the machine only gives credits for future play, why would anyone go there to cash a $70 winner?

Winning a free ticket, want cash instead
Couldn't they force you to redeem it at the vending machine?
It's not worth the hassle for them. I am a regular of a major grocery store and the location of the vending machine is at the other side of the store. Imagine if there are 8 people in line. I am the first one in the line. The cashier couldn't just leave her stand and escort me to the vending machine while there are 7 other people in the line already. And what would happen if all the five dollar tickets are sold out, what are they g

Black Pearls
Check the vending Machines at Publix or Winn Dixie. They did not have it at the counter only in the machine.

Statistician cracks secret code behind lottery tickets
