Scratcher's Odds
Can someone please tell me how the odds are established for each prize level of a scratchers game? An example is this: In Arizona there is a $5 game I enjoy playing called Coffee Break Crossword. The Arizona Lottery website states that the odds in winning the top prize of $50,000 is 1:240,000. How is that calculated?

Arizona Lottery has a wide variety of scratch off validation codes, but up to $500. $500 and up contain a losing code. Here are codes I know of (Those with question marks and/or bolded mean I am not really sure of but if anyone finds a valid code on a winning Arizona Lottery scratch ticket please respond): $1/ONE, $2/TWO, $3/THR, $4/FOR, $5/FIV, $6/SIX, $7/SVN, $8/EGT, $9/NIN, $10/TEN, $14/FRN, $15/FTN, $17/SVT?, $20/TWY, $25/TWF, $28/TGT?, $30/TRY, $37/TRS?, $40/FTY, $45/FTV, $50/FFY, $60/SX

New California Scratch-Off OddsReply
Haven't played that game (I live in Arizona), but can give another example. I play only one $5 scratchers game simply because I enjoy playing it. It has overall odds of 1:3.66. I bought six (6) consecutive tickets last week and won zippo/nada/nothing. Two weeks ago I bought Six (6) in a row and won on five (5) of six (6) tickets for a total of $105. These odds seem suspect (reversed): https://lottery.az.gov/185-million-cash-explosion-950 $2,500,000 2,000,000 $100,000 4,000,000 An email response from the Arizona lottery stated they did verify the odds are correct. Very unusual!

Did you know some states they use hidden letters in scratch offs? In Arizona, the three-letter codes have a winning code up to $500 (FHN for example).

I wanted to play a wide variety of tix, even the lower ones just for the fun of it...Playing only the more expensive tix and getting killed by them made me want to try out the lower ones to see if they were paying out. I'm going to Arizona next week and am planning to buy a roll of $5 tix, any advice on which to buy?

Was it luck or greed
Was on our Arizona Lottery site winners page and noticed that this lady won one of the Grand Prizes TWICE ; here's my thought on how this went down. She wins the big one and gets $50K and then takes some of the winnings and buys a butt load of tickets just down the street and gets lucky again!
