The Tennessee Lottery has selected the TV stations that will take part in the launch of Cash 3 on March 1 and the televised Powerball drawings in late spring.

In Memphis, the Lottery selected NBC affiliate WMC. The Lottery chose ABC affiliate WBBJ in Jackson; ABC affiliate WKRN in Nashville; NBC affiliate WBIR in Knoxville; and ABC affiliate WTVC in Chattanooga.

The daily drawings for Cash 3 will be held every night beginning March 1, though time has not been finalized. Cash 3 is the Lottery's first computerized game in which players choose three numbers to match the three numbers drawn daily by the Lottery. Once the Lottery begins Powerball -- a multi-state lottery -- those drawings will be held every Wednesday and Saturday night.

"We'll be entering a new phase of our games," Lottery CEO Rebecca Paul says, "which translates into more dollars from the education programs we fund."

All Tennessee Lottery profits will go to education programs. Most immediately, the Lottery is charged with raising at least $88 million by July 1 to fund scholarships for an estimated 65,000 students expected to attend Tennessee colleges and universities next fall.
