The Ohio Lottery says a man who accepted a symbolic check as the co-owner of a South Euclid convenience store that sold a winning Mega Millions ticket isn't the owner.
The Ohio Lottery had made a presentation to Jagdish Shah at Quick Shop Food Mart on January 2.
The store sold the winning ticket for the $162 million dollar Mega Millions jackpot, which earned the owner $100,000 and a cruise.
Lottery spokeswoman Mardele Cohen said Thursday that Shah identified himself that day as an owner. But she says lottery records identify Kamlesh Patel as the store's owner.
Cohen says the payment for selling the jackpot ticket goes to Patel's lottery account for Quick Shop Food Mart.
Geesh, more weirdness surrounding that lottery win at the store in Ohio!
People just dont know how to act around big money! Man what a crazy way for a state to win its first jackpot.
And the city can't collect its "share" of the prize.
