Mega Millions

MOUNT CLEMENS, Mich. — Someone who purchased a Mega Millions lottery ticket in metro Detroit is much, much richer.

The winning numbers for the drawing on Friday, June 13 were 7, 38, 46, 49, and 56, with Mega Ball number 1.

According to Michigan Lottery officials, one ticket matched all six numbers for a jackpot of $66 million — an estimated cash value of $37.9 million.

The winning ticket was sold at a gas station at the corner of Market Street and Gratiot Avenue in Mount Clemens.

Strangely enough, the ticket is the third jackpot-winning ticket sold in Michigan on a Friday the 13th, following earlier wins on June 13, 2008, and May 13, 2011. The only other Mega Millions jackpot winner sold on Friday the 13th was in New York, on March 13, 2009.

The Mega Millions jackpot resets back to $15 million for the next drawing on Tuesday, June 17.

I really am going to have to decide if I want to keep playing the dam lotto. This is twice I have been within three city blocks of a winner. The first was a mega millions win in Port Huron MI where I used to live. I used to buy my tickets at a Speedway that was two blocks away from River district market where a winning mega millions was sold. Now the current Mega Millions ticket was sold two blocks from where I work. I almost always buy my tickets at a little party store two blocks from where the winner was sold this time. I actually bought a ticket there for the Wednesday draw when i got gas on my way home from work. SMH!!!

Congrats to the winner though. There are a plethora of lawyers one block away. Watch out!

If you're in Michigan you'll win for sure.  The Michigan lottery has never sold a losing ticket, ever.

Detroit....No surprise, it is in ruins and in need of a bail out.   It also voted 70% democrat in 08  & 12.  This win really makes me wonder if they pre pick the area to win, considering detroit is broke.

Good News for the lucky winner in Michigan. Hope they invest wisely and not blow it all on conspicuous consumption.

If winning locations were so close to your area, think it would encourage you more. Sounds like the luck of the lottery likes to strike in your area, so don't give up. All you need is one ticket to be "in the Game".

Hope this is your photo. If not, the person might be a little more than sore that his photo is posted on line, unless he signed a photo release form, or gave you verbal permission.

Who knows we might see this face sometime in the future as a big winner. Now that would be really funny !Banana

"The Michigan lottery has never sold a losing ticket, ever".

Well, the last winning PB ticket was just in Tennessee.

So, that means Michigan "sold" the losing ticket for that draw. Dude, you are making some rather stupid statements. As another poster pointed out, states don't win jackpots, people do. RANDOMLY.

I am very familiar with copyright law and releases. That clip is from youtube and I believe it is taken from a movie.. The person who posted the video did not own the rights either. Now, while the owner could demand that it be removed, I believe it falls under the doctrine of fair use since it is short, has no negative effect on the potential market of that work, etc. Now if Whiteballz was making and selling a product with images from that movie, then it would be illegal...but that is not the situation here.

Good luck to the winner as they can now leave this corrupted and cess pool of a city and relocate to a safer and more rewarding neighborhood to enjoy their new found riches.

I take it you and Gleno have never seen Robocop and have no idea just how relevant that GIF actually is.

Still amusing me how ineffective the huge raise in odds has been for MegaMillions. As if the people behind Powerball hadn't already learned that and MM went and took it further without really running up the JPs like it was supposed to. Changing the annuity length and putting a huge dent in the cash hasn't helped either.

On another note, these boards really need to be updated, proper multi-quoting functionality has been a thing for awhile now.
