At his mom's urging, a Manning, South Carolina, man bought a lottery ticket on the anniversary of his father's death. Winning $150,000 was bittersweet.

The winner declined to publicize his name but shared he will honor his late father by using the winnings to look after his mother.

The aptly named $150 Grand ticket was purchased at the Corner Food Stop on S. Boundary St. in Manning for $5.

As of August 19, one top prize of $150,000 remains in the $150 Grand game. Odds of winning the top prize are 1 in 480,000.

For selling the claimed ticket, Corner Food Stop received a commission of $1,500.

To date, lottery play has resulted in more than $3.1 billion transferred to support education, according to lottery officials.
