The Minnesota Lottery selected the winning numbers Sunday for its special New Year's Day "Millionaire Raffle" drawing.

The full set of winning numbers are available on Lottery Post's Minnesota Lottery Results page.

Millionaire Raffle is the sixth annual holiday raffle game from the Minnesota State Lottery.

Players purchased tickets for $10 each. Tickets went on sale Nov. 1, 2011 and were completely sold out before the drawing. The raffle has sold out in each of its four years.

A total of 500,000 tickets were available for the raffle.

Lottery officials said that Minnesota Millionaire Raffle has the best odds of winning $1 million cash that they have ever offered.  There are two guaranteed $1 million prizes, four $100,000 prizes, four $25,000 prizes, and 100 $500 prizes.

In addition to the game's cash prizes, players also have the chance to win one of 38 bonus prizes.

The bonus prizes include:

  • (1) 2012 Ford Mustang
  • (1) 2012 Ford Edge
  • (1) 2012 Ford Explorer

I wish Iowa would start having raffles again.

Maybe Iowa is trying to emulate Tennessee by not giving a sh*t what the terminal game players want as long as they're selling plenty of scratchers.

But I'm also starting to wonder if the Tennessee Lottery is in cahoots with the gasoline industry (Our Governor owns Pilot Truck Stops on the interstates) because the more Tennesseans driving to other states to buy lottery tickets, the more gasoline they sell.

But far be it from me to start any vicious rumors.

The last time they sold raffle tickets in Iowa, they didn't sell them all.Personally,I think it was because they only offered one million dollar prize and a couple of $50,000 prizes. If they offered a 1/2 million dollar prize and several $50,000 prizes and a few $ 20,000 prizes and maybe some $10,000 prizes they might sell more tickets.I know I'd be happy to win a smaller prize.

And I think that the gal that is second-in-command of the lottery really runs the show. She was acting director before they got the new director from the Des Moines ZOO.I think she is Rebecca Hargrove's twin sister.~;)

Happy New Year, Louise, but seriously, your boy could lower gas prices immediately, just by allowing the Canadian Pipeline to bring us oil. They wouldn't even have to start building it yet - just his word saying he's going to allow it would lower gas prices right now. That's how it works.

But it won't happen. He's going to make us pay through the nose for gas to avoid upsetting his environmental-wacko voters in San Francisco.

And Canada says they're going to build the pipeline to the west coast if we don't want it and the oil will go to China.
