so here is another one....
Using the search option, it is easy to find your last posts by author. But using it to find the posts that you are a subject in is virtually impossible; unless I'm mistaken and you can help me out.
An example is this thread about psychic predictions. 29 pages of posts and I'm a subject (according to the search) in at least one of them.
With 29 pages of posts to date, I don't have the time reading each and every post and would like to know what this post says. Is there a cross-reference search option I'm missing or what?
I never posted in this thread, so author, post time, subject or message content can't help me find my reference in this 29 page thread regarging psychic predictions.
Is there a cross-referencing option I'm missing?

The Search function will find text within a message thread, and when you're viewing the thread it will highlight the search terms in yellow. However, it doesn't show which page of the thread the term appears on, because:
2. It could appear on more than one page, and,
3. Everyone's page size is different based on their settings in the Control Panel.
You need to visually scan through each page in a given thread, looking for the yellow-highlighted text.

RickG I know what you mean I've been down this road also. Post to a pick 3 board and in an hour it gets buried with 100 other pick 3 posts.

Thanks. I was wondering about the very same problem, and your answer number 2 makes total sense. However, the casual searcher is confused and frustrated, because that limitation or restriction is certainly not obvious to the casual searcher at the time.

Todd,
Just my feelings, but it's kind of a hassle going through 29 pages of text to see what someone has said about you....just my opinion.
Your site is great and this is not a big issue with me, but I get curious and the time frame of reading 29 pages of text is a little much for me.
But I'm not bitching, that is a very little issue in the search context...I like what you've done with the site 100%.
I was just curious what someone had to say about me or to me in a thread I had not participated in as an author.

With some of the long threads that I want to peruse at my leisure I simply go to Printable version which is at the bottom of the page and then Save As to save it somewhere in .txt format. You can then open it up in Word and use the Find feature there. Press the more button and you can use wildcards.
An interesting question that I would like Todd to answer is in the Rules it says:
"Messages that are posted on Lottery Post become the property of Lottery Post once the author submits the message to be posted."
I'm not a lawyer but I would have thought that Copyright still remained with the Author.

Good point, unrelated to the current subject, but the content of a post should not have copyright ownership by the site's owner(s), otherwise we would be doing nothing but throwing numbers out here.
I have given my heart and soul to help people to win money on here and if I thought the copyright went to the the site owner I would stop posting my ideas, suggestions, and systems immediately.

You are online Todd, I want an answer to Colin's question re: copyrights.
I've anwered numerous PMs and posted publicly on your board about how I get my numbers and am disappointed at this revelation.
An answer here would be appreciated or I'll go back to the old system "don't tell, don't sell."

Colin F: That's a good solution with the printable page. However, rather than copying it into Word, Internet Explorer has a built-in search feature - just hit Ctrl-F.
About the copyright thing:
Don't post copyrighted material to Lottery Post, because anything posted here becomes the property of Lottery Post.
Likewise, if you own a copyright to something, I don't think you'd be posting it to a public forum.
The rule is spelled out very simply because I want to avoid any confusion.
This is not some big revelation, it is common sense.
Rick G and Colin F, you both need to take a big chill pill! If the policy bothers you, then by all means keep silent. However, that seems rather silly to me. If you're afraid that I'm going to sell your comments posted here, you're barking up the wrong tree.

This site is one of the most amzing things I have ever seen! The predictions set up is out of this world!
I can't even imagine the amount of work it took to set up anything like that.

Copyright protects both the author and the publisher. Todd owns what we choose to post here, but we don't lose our right to post the work elsewhere.

If I post some wheels and systems here and later choose to include them in a book Todd can't claim ownership. If Todd chooses to write a book of the best systems posted on Lottery Post he doesn't need further permission from me once I've posted the system here.

At least that's my understanding of it, like sending a letter to the editor, if they publish it the letter belongs to you and them unless they paid you for it. BobP
