Winning with Math only and absolutely no draw History

Prometheus1's avatar - trace9

Almost all Systems here attempt to use some version of"Draw History"as their key.

How close to winning can we come using Math only?

The odds in Pick 3 are so unfair it may be impossible to win using just MATH alone.

                                                               Has anyone here ever tried?

                                            How close can we get?

Mississippi Lottery started Pick 3 on 09/01: Their was No Draw History!

First Draw was 869!

This goes against everything I have been doing in Excel using draw history mathematics.

It is said that "Those that ignore history are bound to Repeat it".  We have a lot of history.  Many Draws have occurred.  If the previous statement is True (and it is) then I guess the answer is to ignore said histories and they will repeat.

So if history is going to repeat itself, What specific Event will Repeat?  Find yourself looking at that history?  How do you select the repeating event if you do not know what has happened?  I guess I will put on headphones (the Noise cancelling kind) to drown out that True Statement and go back to the Cricket Lab and do some more historical math.

I don't know what else to do.  Quick Picks?  Birthdays and anniversaries?  Bird Droppings on my windshield?  Massive Excel Sheet?

Here is a thought.  Create as much historical data as you can, Ignore how it was created and Play from a list of historical Events to create your picks.

Perhaps use a Quick Pick of your filters instead of an actual Quick Pick.

History will repeat itself so............

Wondering how to use Math without History.  What would I Add, subtract or Multiply?  I am not saying that it can't be done, but I have bags of history tied to my legs and I will not float if I jump in.  My brain and body will stop functioning without fresh air (something desperately needed in Northern California right now).

Where to begin?

Many people on LP believe that math alone may provide timing for random events. For curiosity rather than need I did some simulations for math predictions without history for Pick 3. The results were consistent and very round. Therefore, until someone proves otherwise, I consider mathematical predictions without any base in history and statistics waste of time - I call them P&P systems (Play & Pray) as luck is actually the only measurement of their effectiveness.

If you think odds in Pick 3 are unfair try jackpots. Again, based on simulations, Pick 3 is actually easy to win and using appropriate strategies may lead to frequent profits. I already described these strategies in other threads and they are also spelled out on my LP blog. These strategies are based exclusively on history, short term history to be precise. Simulations indicated that short term history generally (although there are exceptions) provides better results than long term.

There were many proposals of using math without history, generally for Pick 3. Try date pyramid or PI with random numbers so hotly discussed on LP times ago. As to others I just did not pay much attention to them so only these 2 come to my mind, sort of quick pick. If you are mathematically creative you can generate similar systems a dozen a day. Only your fantasy is the limit.

If somebody knew about a way to only use math to win, they wouldn't tell anyone. It would kill the lottery industry if it spread and prizes drop to bottom.

Prometheus1's avatar - trace9

That's right. For that matter, no one would tell us if they used either "draw history" or "just math" with any success.

So, for right now, how close can we come on our own right here? This forum is probably the best place to ask such a question. OK, maybe Carl Gauss but he's not posting here anymore.

My "spidey sense" says we will never get better than "close" either way. Close may be enough, if we're lucky that day.

How Close Do You Want To Get?

Well, perhaps unconditional (marginal) probability to start with and work our way from there (p(A)).

My presentation skills are weak, maybe you could give it a shot Raven. All help is appreciated.

Make some sort of tracking system but do make it soooo simple that even a 9 year old can follow and use.

odd sum combos vrs even sum combos

The game is in your mind, basically your mind playing out a political debate like, Republicans vrs DemocRats but in this case over number choice lol.

The problem is not the math, but as you said, math doesn't take away the fact that the events are random. Say you come up with 6 numbers, well 2 of the 6 do show, but they show 3 weeks later. That's the tricky part with using math. There are other factors that need to be considered. But it's tough. Becasue no matter what it is random. 2 out of 6 showed, not the other 4. And by the end of it, how much did you really make. Anyways, just some opinions on the matter..but math is great in a lot of ways. But tricky, very tricky. Lotto is like hypothetical math, it works, then it doesn't work. It's one of those things where you have to interpret it a lot.
