Over the last month I've observed the different repeating patterns in the Texas Cash 5 which were compiled in one chart for comparison. The relevant portions are the RP, CS, RB, RBB, RXL, and RN sections.

The RP section is the repeating number from one draw to the next. You can see in the chart 23 repeats from draw 182 to 183 and 17 repeats from raw 185 to 186 and so on. Nothing new. To do the whole history we find that one number will repeat about 50% of the time from the last draw. Texas is running 52%.

The next repeating pattern is consecutive numbers and as you see there are double pairs and triples in this column. If we do the history we find that consecutive pairs hit about the same as a repeating number, 50%. (Texas is 51.7%)

A little deeper pattern is in the RB column. That is the repeating numbers in the back digits. For this we strip off the back digits and concatenate those. As an example in row 181, the draw 16, 28, 29, 32, 33 we use the 6,8,9,2,3. There is no repeating digit in those and RBB column is thus 99. But in columns where there is a repeat digit, (or more) those are listed. (A note: 99 was used to denote no repeat since 0 would have indicated 0 repeated as a back digit).

If we total those we find 122 repeating back digits (at least one) in 202 draws which brings us to 60.3% meaning 60% of the time we can expect at least one back digit to repeat in any draw.

The RXL column is an attempt to eek out every percentage point possible in repeating patterns. As such is requires an explanation. And for that we need to understand the root sums of the numbers in a 35 ball game. Top row is the root sums, with the numbers that make up that root sum below.

To arrive at the RXL we simply replace the drawn numbers with the root sum. In the last draw, 17, 19, 23, 27, 35 we have the back digit pattern 79375. But using the root sum pattern we replace the 17 with 8, 19 with 1, 23 with 5, 27 with 9 and 35 with 8 to arrive at the RXL 81598.

Both our back digit pattern and the RXL have 1 repeating number so how does that help us?

It actually helps in two possible ways.

First we do the numbers we find repeating root sums about 65%. In Texas its 141 of the 202 draws (69.5%).
In South Dakota's 5/35 (2179 draws) it happened 68%.
In Mass Cash 5/35 (5110 draw) it runs 66.7%.
In ConnCash 5/35 (6989 draws) 65.7%.

Safe to say you'll see repeating root sums 65 to 70 draws per 100.

Secondly, it helps choose a number to pair with another. If you nail down one number you know you know is going to come out it wouldn't be at all surprising to see another number of the same root sum appear. If you start your number with a 4, it might prove wise to have a 13, 22, 31 in the same set.

Surprisingly root sums appear more than we recognize. So you might want to take a quick glance at your game and see what's happening there.

(As always there is more to do in determining which root will appear but we're working on it)

Worked tonight in Texas 5 17 23 25 35......we actually got two repeating roots....5 and 23 and 17 and 35.

Not to mention we got 17 and 23 as repeat numbers. That has been the hottest pair since Texas went to the 5/35. Seems to be about the 22nd time those number have hit in the same draws since 9/24/2018.

And to everybody I cried to last night about missing them. I missed them again!

Hi garyo,

Thanks for posting.

Pennsylvania has a 5/30 RNG draw each midday. 10K starting jackpot

I added both the Root & LDR Sums to my worksheet.

Last 100 draws Root Sums had 59 games where a digit repeated. 5 games where 2 digits repeated

Last 100 draws LDR Sums had 55 games where a digit repeated. 5 games where 2 digits repeated

That's what I like to see, Steve! Can't have enough tools for the toobox!

Never thought of doing the LDR sums, but I'll look at that too and put that up.

In the states checked it was never out more than 6 draws. So it's been a consistent hitter.

This weekend should be a chance to look for patterns and try to determine which is most likely to hit.

I need to do those breakdowns too! I haven't yet.

And apparently my mind wasn't working last night. The last digit would be the LDR. Or it was caught up in running the Root Sum sets through the entire matrix.

I started that program this afternoon. I know that's a little ways off the beaten path, but I'm looking for a correlation between the number of times an RXL value appears in the matrix versus the times its drawn.

Crazy idea. May lead to nothing, but it is the top of the idea list.

I love what you're doing. It's sparking ideas I haven't thought of as well!

Did you notice the winning Cash 5 numbers were a self-pick? The winner played the same numbers 3 times to win $75,000.

I've doing the same thing except playing the same numbers twice trying for $50,000.

I play 1 even, 4 odd.

Didn't notice that. But playing the same set no more than three times is a smart play. If there are 4 winners $75,000 is split 4 ways.....$18,750.

It happened here.....

Hey Gary,

I've notice that over the past few months for SC cash 5. I don't know if this sheds any new light but most of the lines with out repeating numbers that draw has numbers that are just one away from the previous! For example your draw 184, 24 is one away from 23 and 30 is one away 31. I take this into account when selecting my next play. Just one of the things I've noticed.

Yes, I did notice that searching the repeating numbers and the consecutive pairs.

What brought it to my attention was when I noticed a number would repeat bringing with it the lower number to make a pair. I think 15 learned that trick first. It would hit, next draw it would repeat bringing 14 with it.

Then 20 or 21 started doing it. And then 16.

19 crashed the party. Didn't work with 19 for some reason. And when 19 hit, everything went wacko. It was like the RESET number.

I've added the pretest draws to the game data to see what's happening and you see it there as well.....

The top 14,16,17,28,29 is the last pretest. 8,15,16,20,35 is the live draw. 16 dropped 1 to be 15 and 17 dropped one to be 16, (or 14 moved up one)

I haven't notice in my previous draws very many consecutive pairs (I wasn't really looking for them but that would've stood out). I'm still in the process of putting my spreadsheet together but i will add the the root sume and the last digits it look very promising.

My database on Texas 5/35 is only up to 5/9/2019, but my lottery software program shows these statistics on roots. as of the last drawing on 5/9

1-1-1-1-1 expected 34.2% every 2.9 draws but is running at 31.1 or every 3.2 draws

2-1-1-1-1 expected 51.3% every 1.9 draws but is running at 55.6 or every 1.8 draws

3-1-1-1-1 expected 9.6% every 10.4 draws but is running at 8.7 or 11,5 every draws

So in essence you can capture 85% by playing the top 2 or play the one that's over due

It's always possible that I'm wrong~

But that's never at the top of my list of possibilities.

Sorry Lottomeister, I'm not familiar with the 1-1-1-1-1, 2-1-1-1-1, 3-1-1-1-1 terminology.

My breakdown was based on consecutive numbers in the root set. It looks like this......

2 CN 389 37.7

3CN 221 21.4

4 CN 98 9.5

5 CN 14 1.4

2+2CN 146 14.1

2+3CN 46 4.4

NONE 117
11.3

2 CN would be consecutives like 1,2, or 4,5 or 6,7 meaning one pair in the 5 root set.
3 CN is as triple, 1,2,3 or 4,5,6 or 7,8,9. Three consecutive numbers in the 5 root set.
4 CN is 1,2,3,4 or 2,3,4,5 or 6,7,8,9. Four consecutive numbers
5 CN is 1,2,3,4,5 or 5,6,7,8,9. Five consecutive numbers
2+2 category is two pairs 1,2 and 6,7 or 2,3 and 8,9 in the same draw. Two pairs in the same draw.
2+3 is 1,2,3 and 5,6 or (the most common in Texas so far) 4,5,6,8,9. A triple and a pair set same draw.

NONE takes in the set where there are no consecutive numbers drawn. Sets such as 1,3,3,8,8 and 1,6,6,6,9, and 2,2,2,2,6 fit that grey area.

Definitely planning to go back and do that breakdown since the 2CN, 3CN, 4CN, 2+2CN and NONE categories leave unaccounted numbers.

Unfortunately a lot of times I wander into areas that look promising, ignoring the necessary for the moment since a new idea provides so much area to cover and so many new avenues to explore. And I enjoy getting lost and taking in the view while looking at whatever critters pop up.

I appreciate your response and please, do explain the 1-1-1-1-1 and 2-1-1-1-1, 3-1-1-1-1 concept.
