They need to reduce the size of the matrix by a few numbers, so it's a little easier to win the jackpot.

Any New Yorker who thinks they're going to get a 90% payout must be delirious. It AIN'T gonna happen. 60% to 70% is doable.

agree the scratch tickets in NY top out at about 75%

draw games should usually pay about 50% at the very minimum, but NY Lotto is at 40%

If you read the article, in a round about way, they said there's poor "coverage".

OK...What's "coverage"?

Coverage means the amount of six number combinations that are "covered" or bought by players.

Lotto's odd's are 45 million to 1. That means there are 45 million different/possible combinations of six numbers in a matrix of numbers 1 thru 59. (Lotto's current matrix)

So for there to be a 50/50 chance of the JP being won, 22.5 million of the 45 million possible combinations must be sold. (22.5 million different combo's would be covered)

There is no way the NY lottery is selling that many different combo's per drawing. So the coverage is poor. If they sell 11 million different combo's ($5,500,000 in sales) then 25% of them are covered and 75% are uncovered or unsold. That means there's 75% chance that a JP will not be won. In a different forum here at The Lottery Post, Yellowpig noted that Lotto's ticket sales per drawing is $1,000,000. That's not even 10% coverage. More than 90% of the possible combinations are not sold. Is it any wonder the JP has not been won in more than eight months??

Why is the coverage so poor? Because players have voted with their dollars and given up on Lotto. They're playing other games with better odds and hardly buying any tickets for Lotto.

If that isn't a clear enough message to The NY State Lottery to do something about Lotto, then I don't know what is. There is no "new news" in this post. The NYS Lottery is well aware of all of what I wrote above. Yet they do nothing to fix the situation/problem.

i believe about 0% noise gate since that will leave NY with only 1 single-state draw game besides numbers and win4: take 5

Lotto has terrible payouts and you get only 1 dollar if u match 3 numbers which is bad. But its 1 dollar for two games but it doesnt make up for the payout. They need to either decrease the number 59 to 55 and have a mega ball (1-20) feature which means dropping the bonus number or increase payouts. Payouts would be:

2/5= free ticket
2/5 + mega= 1 dollar (maybe 2)
3/5= 5 dollars
3/5 + mega= 30 dollars
4/5= 100 dollars
4/5 + mega = 1000
5/5= 10000
5/5 + mega = jackpot

leave the starting minimum jackpot as is but increase it by 1 million.

im interested to see other peoples suggestions to improve this game since its a very old NY lotto game :)

Adding a mega ball drawing would make it harder to hit the jackpot. Just reduce the number matrix from 59 to 55.
