Florida Fantasy 5 EZMATCH Stinks !!

Well I am sorry. I tend to read what I want to see into things like misleading Florida Lottery pamphlets that you can only understand after seeing the game in action by buying tickets.

The ezmatch pamphlet gives the impression by illustration suggesting the three winning numbers were drawn and the drawn numbers also match the ezmatch numbers which are identical to three of the played numbers circled as winners.  I thought this meant that to buy all the numbers on 8 lines, 5 ezmatch wins of some value would be guaranteed.

What a nasty surprise to find this isn't a fair and honest game at casino like odds.  No, not the Florida Lottery.  Instead you play your numbers for Fantasy 5 as usual and the ezmatch numbers are selected by computer after it knows what you played.  If any of the computer's picks match your picks you win the prize(s) "instantly".  Clearly an oppertunity for a fixed lottery game if ever there was one.

I bought 8 lines playing all the numbers.  Won a $2.00 match and a $3.00 ezmatch only nothing alerted me I'd won "instantly" and of course now I wait to see if I win anything from the 5/36 part of the game before cashing it in.

If the odds were better, this could be a stand alone game, "Guess What Number I'm Thinking Of?"  but I guess that's too much sucker bait even for the Florida Lottery.

The Florida Fantasy 5 ezmatch game stinks. It is clearly not a game anyone should play.  Too bad, the game I thought it was had real potential.

BobP, congrats on you $2 & $3 matches. I bought $10 ($20 total) and got nothing.

I would be surprised to see this game stay very long. Then they can pay more money to have the game slips printed back to what they were.

They don't worry about the expense for new betslips. They've got plenty of Floridians funding them.....LOL

Don't get mad at the lottery because you misunderstood and/or didn't read the fine print.

I understand, but why should the lottery go to that length by putting it in fine print? Something isn't right in milwalkee......LOL

I seem to have made a wrong toin in Albe qoikeeeeee.

Too bad that the money that is not paid out in the ezmatch prizes, couldn't be added to the fantasy 5 pool. But that might cause people to purchase more tickets with a higher payout in the fantasy 5. What was I thinking?

How can the lawywers get paid, if nobody chips in?....LOL

The lottery retailers were told not to release the play slips until March 20th. If I could have read the back of the play slip I would have understood better.

The TV ads and pamphlet they put out were at best not clear on how it worked.

I've been dealing with lottery a long time. Was Lotto World Magazine's New Jersey Bureau Chief and sometimes a Columnist/Writer so when I misunderstand how the game is played it isn't some newbie  misunderstanding basic rules, it's because the ad copy wasn't composed properly to be understood by the average joe or maybe it was done that way to get a big blast of first time sales.  Like when they make a crappy snack food or movie and promote it extensively to get everyone to try it before word gets out it stinks.  Sometimes if they can just get everyone to try it once they make their money and move on.  At least that's what I think. I voted "No way I'll throw my money away on this." While I still like the Florida Fantasy 5 game, I won't be playing the EZMatch.

Thanks for clearing this up, Bob!

One other thing to look out for in "instant" on-line games like this are dishonest clerks. Since each ez-match ticket is printed individually, a clerk can take a quick look at the "matching" numbers and see if it is an ez-match winner. If a ticket or tickets are winner(s) then the clerk can simply punch up another quick pick or if it is a larger winner ($5 or more), re-run the customer play slip to make it look legit, keeping the set of tickets with the ez-match winner and giving the customer the second set of tickets.

Most store clerks are honest but it never hurts to keep an eye on what is happening, especially when the store is busy.
