I don't think so. Those small pick 3/pick 4 drawings only give back half of the odds. For example the odds of winning the top prize is 1 in 1000 but the payout is only $500. Seems like you would have to be right more than double the odds (i.e. 2 out of every 1000 tickets). The math on the larger drawings is bit more simple and I don't play the smaller lottos, so I could be wrong on this one, but I don't think you could ever come out ahead on the pick 3 or 4 drawings. I play the Lotto 5 and Powerball (and really miss playing Lotto South) and if I ever hit then I have won, but the odds are greatly against me doing anything more than pissing away several grand over my lifetime.

Short of winning a multi-million jackpot I don't think it's even possible. Every pick 3 player hits a loosing streak. Maybe if you lived frugally and owned your own house in an area with low tax you could win less and pull it off but the only way you can think you can live off pick 3 or pick 4 is if you just started playing and had a few hits.

i voted maybe, because I believe too, that it is a time factor. You would have to be dedicated and treat it like a job. I would like to comment to optimist that I have tried going with the previous numbers that hit and adding my own numbers that I felt good about. I got 4 out of 6! So good luch to anyone who wants to try that consistantly..

No one can make a living off of $1000 a week. Make it $750,000 lump sum instead...
MANY people can and DO make a living off $1000.00 a week. As a matter of fact MANY people actually work a job and make less than that, so I know one CAN live off $1000.00 per week tax free money. I'm certain not all LP memebers have a job that earns over $1000.00 per week and would be VERY Happy with this amount of money on a weekly basis.

I've seen those consistent winners in the store now and then. Some are consistently winning $30 to $50 while spending $100 and some are laundering money they made from drug dealing. That's actually not a bad strategy. You'll lose about half and then pay taxes, but it's a lot easier to spend money with a legitimate source when you want to pay for something significant like a car or house.

If any of you really are making a living off of playing the lottery, you had better not tell anyone how your doing it! I promise you that if you even tell one person on this board, that eventually they will spill the beans to a family member. When that happens they will tell another and so on. If word gets out about you living off of playing the lottery, there wont be a lottery anymore (at least not as you know it now) They will do this I can assure you. There is no way that they will keep a secret, I dont care how much you think you know a person. Trust me I'm an old man and I've been around long enough to know. You have a great thing going right now, dont screw it up and ruin it for yourself by telling anybody what your doing or how your doing it. You cant trust nobody, not a soul, not even your family members! Thats how most criminals get caught, they tell somebody else what they do and eventually that person tells somebody else. Same thing with the lottery, People get too excited when they win and they cant resist telling people that "They have a system". Dont even hint at how you make a living from playing the lottery!

I agree, however, I think that if someone came up with a way to beat the game, they would also have enough sense not to reveal the system.
There are exceptions to each and every rule, and I really mean each and every rule. The emphasis is based on a personal experience i had with a very smart friend. He could answer 95 percent of the questions on Jeopardy, yet failed in the area of common sense, when I caught him with the toilet brush in the sink, half filled with water. I can tell you the reaction i had, but will spare you.
So you might be right. Intelligence doesen't always equate with common sense, and give the secret away. Very true.....

People have been posting their secret winning systems at LP for a long time but not the real secret of how they actually make money, they leave that to the LP members to figure out for themselves. So far that secret is safe because no one has come forward with any documented proof that any of those systems actually do make money. If you're trying to win a multi-million dollars jackpot, the system only have to work once, but who's to say that's not just getting lucky.

I voted maybe. I think there may be a few people out there that may be able to make a living play Pick 3 or Pick 4, but I don't believe that the majority of the players who play do.

I live on well under $1000 before tax per week. The whole point for me to play is so I don't have to scrape by anymore.
