Powerball

Powerball is up for grabs again offering a jackpot of $128 million for next Wednesday's draw. There were no Powerball jackpot winners Saturday evening, but 774,200 players across the nation won a total of more than $6 million in prizes in America's Game.

Because no one correctly matched all six numbers in Saturday's drawing the jackpot will grow to an estimated $128 million with a cash option value of $70.7 million! That's currently the largest lottery jackpot in the world.

This is only the sdventh time this calendar year the jackpot has reached over $100 million. The drawing on Wednesday, September 29, with its jackpot of $128 million is the largest Powerball jackpot since last May.

The numbers drawn Saturday night were: 11, 25, 40, 41, 48, and the Powerball was 3. The Power Play multiplier was 5.

One player correctly matched the 5 white numbers and won $100,000. The ticket was sold in New Hampshire. Another winning player of the match 5 purchased the Power Play option in South Carolina and won $500,000.

Fifty-one players matched 4 white numbers plus the Powerball and won $5,000. Four others of the 4+1 purchased the Power Play option, giving them a total win of $25,000.

More than 85,000 winning Powerball players multiplied their prize by 5 Saturday. They were able to do that by purchasing the Power Play option for one dollar. With Power Play you can multiply your winnings, except for the jackpot, from two-five times. At the beginning of each drawing a wheel is spun to select that night's multiplier.

This current jackpot run started with the Wednesday, August 18 drawing. The drawing on Saturday night was the 12th consecutive draw without being hit.

Players purchased more than 30.4 million tickets between Thursday and Saturday night.

The lotteries sold $2.2 billion in Powerball tickets in FY04. That translates into more than $660 million for worthwhile state projects.

are you just hoping for a $200 million dollar jackpot or hoping to win it?

i'm thinking at least a share of the next jackpot will be won in either VT, ME, CO, TN, or the USVI. i think we're gonna see a state win their first jackpot at the end of this run.

I think that your right Doc. A state that hasn't won is probably gonna get it.

Its on a holiday run.....it always happens towards the end of the year,  this one and the next one should be big!  same with mega millions

JAG331

It's barely Fall!  Don't tell me the holidays are here again already! What happened to the year?

DoctorEw220's avatarDoctorEw220

i think CO is way overdue for a winner. they've offered powerball since 2001. since 2002, PA has seen 5 jackpot winners. SC has seen 3. states like ND, VT, and ME have come close in the past.

CASH Only

Connecticut has not seen a jackpot winner since the cash option began in November 1997.

i can see CT having the winner only because they are probab ly swamped with people from NY.

If I was from New York, I would drive a little longer and go to PA instead to get my Powerball tickets.  No state tax on lottery winnings.
CASH Only

But you'd have to pay NY tax.

DoctorEw220's avatarDoctorEw220

actually, PA will take out state taxes for non-residents.
