A ticket sold in Minnesota is the winner of a record $10.8 million Hot Lotto jackpot, lottery officials said Thursday.
It was the only ticket to match the numbers 2-3-15-26-36 and the Hot Ball of 18 from Wednesday night's drawing.
This is the fourth Hot Lotto jackpot won in Minnesota, the State Lottery said.
The Hot Lotto win follows two recent Powerball jackpot wins in Minnesota. A Stillwater couple won an $11.1 million cash-option jackpot on July 7, and an Eden Prairie couple claimed the $53.1 million cash-option jackpot from the Aug. 14 drawing.
Hot Lotto offers better odds than Powerball but lower jackpots. The prize starts at $1 million, then grows by a minimum of $50,000 per drawing until someone wins the jackpot, lottery officials said.
The record jackpot won on Wednesday has been growing since Dec. 24, 2003.
Finally, no more Hot Lotto posts from Cash Only! It will only take another year now for this jackpot to reach 10 million again!
Not to worry, I'll still be reminding you!
