Powerball

There were no Powerball jackpot winners Wednesday, July 14, but 264,466 players across the nation won a total of $1,843,007 in prizes in America's Game.

Because no one correctly matched all six numbers in Wednesday's drawing the jackpot will grow to an estimated $21 million for Saturday, July 17.

The cash option for the Saturday, July 17, drawing will be an estimated $10.9 million.

The numbers drawn for Wednesday, July 14, were: 09 24 45 49 50 and the Powerball was 37. The Power Play multiplier was 3.

Two players correctly matched the 5 white numbers and won $100,000. The tickets were sold in Arizona and South Carolina. Neither player purchased the Power Play option. If they had, they would have multiplied their prize by 3 for a total win of $300,000.

Sixteen players matched 4 white numbers plus the Powerball and won $5,000. Two of those players purchased the Power Play option, giving them a total win of $15,000.

More than 36,000 winning Powerball players multiplied their prize by 3 Wednesday. They were able to do that by purchasing the Power Play option for one dollar. With Power Play you can multiply your winnings up to 5 times, except for the jackpot. At the beginning of each drawing a wheel is spun to select that night's multiplier.

This current jackpot run started with the Saturday, July 10, drawing. The drawing on Wednesday night was the 2nd consecutive draw without being hit. More than 614,000 million Powerball players across the nation have won a total of more than $4.5 million in cash prizes since this jackpot run started.

Players should carefully check their tickets after every draw. Even if there are no jackpot winners there are always tens of thousands of winners at other prize levels.

Players purchased more than $12 million tickets between Sunday and Wednesday night.

The lotteries sold more than $2.6 billion in Powerball tickets in 2004. That translates into more than $900 million for worthwhile state projects.
