Winners Claim Record-Setting $4,787,650 in Prizes in May 29 Midday Drawing

For the second time in less than two months, the Michigan Lottery Daily 4 game players have broken the bank.

On Saturday, May 29, 2004, the number 1-1-0-1 was drawn in the Daily 4 game midday drawing, with 2,416 winning tickets splitting a record-setting $4,787,650 prize pool.  That amounts to a prize payout of 1,422 percent of sales for that drawing.

"This is the highest midday prize payout for the Daily 4 in the games history," said Lottery Commissioner Gary Peters. "The last midday record was set June 27, 1998. The number 1-0-2-1 was drawn for a $2,510,496 prize payout. We more than doubled the record!"

On Thursday, April 15, the number 1-0-1-0 was drawn in the Daily 4 game evening drawing, with 5,269 winning tickets splitting a $13,965,844 prize pool -- which amounted to a prize payout of 2,600 percent of sales for that drawing -- a record for the Daily 4 game.

"I am thrilled that Lottery players are continuing to win big in the Daily 4 game," said Peters. "It's an exciting day for our Daily game players."

The Daily 3 and Daily 4 drawings are held daily at 12:59 p.m. and 7:28 p.m. and broadcast live on stations across the state. The prize for matching a number combination straight (in the exact order drawn) on a $1 wager in the Daily 4 game is $5,000.

On April 25, the Michigan Lottery launched the "Daily 3 & 4 Daily Double" offering players a chance to instantly on their regular Daily 3 & 4 tickets. It's like a drawing right in the store! "Daily Double" plays just like the regular Daily games, but Daily Double prizes are an average of 20 percent more than those paid out for the regular Daily Games.

Since it was created in 1972, the Michigan Lottery has transferred more than $11 billion to the state School Aid Fund, which supports K-12 public education in Michigan.

Yeah Penn got hit hard last nite with 000 to , now why cant all you "predictors" be on top of this?  Again its all blind luck.

gutgnt, why are you bashing predictors?  You have your opinion and they have their's.

But it's for one day only. If 1101 attracted 0.7% of all plays and 1010 attracted 1.3% of all plays (vs. an expected norm of 0.1% for any number) most of the rest of the numbers will have percentages below the norm, in which case the total payout percentage for that particular game (Pick 4 Straight) would be below 50% should any of those numbers hit. And you can be sure the Michigan Lottery (or any other lottery for that matter) won't make a major news dvent out of that.

I am not a Pick 4 player, but why would 1-1-0-1 be such a popular set of numbers????

I agree, the 99 days out of 100 they arent even paying close to 50% back.  The theoretical payback % is 50% but I am sure the lottery actually holds much more than that.

CASH Only

AFAIK Michigan does not allow 50c bets on its Pick-4 (but they do on Pick-3).
