Powerball

A Clearfield County woman won $1,003,688 for her appearance on the Powerball Instant Millionaire TV Game Show, lottery officials said.

Carol Mihalko, 56, of Madera, was the winner of the game show, which is taped in Las Vegas and features one person from each of the 13 participating state lotteries playing a series of card and word games offering each the chance to win up to $1 million in cash.

The Pennsylvania Lottery also awards 101 at-home players monetary prizes between $100 and $10,000, depending upon the winnings of that week's Pennsylvania Lottery on-air contestant, officials said.

The show ends its four-year run on Sept. 25. The participating lotteries said they were eliminating it because of diminishing ratings and declining ticket sales.
