Ohio Man Wins $22 Million Lottery Jackpot

A retired aircraft industry worker from Columbus, Ohio was the sole ticketholder of a winning $22 million Super Lotto Plus jackpot earleir this month, the Ohio Lottery announced Wednesday.

Marvin Wallace, who is single, opened his newspaper on April 8 and learned that he held the winning ticket for the previous evening's jackpot.

He claimed his jackpot on Tuesday in the lottery's Columbus regional office, according to the agency.

Wallace, the father of two daughters and a son, said that he thinks he has figured out how to play and successfully win Lotto-style jackpot games. A twice-weekly player, Wallace said that he frequently plays with a group of friends, but this time decided to play by himself.

He said that he followed up his big jackpot win with another $100 prize winner in Saturday's Super Lotto Plus drawing.

The winning ticket was purchases at Noe Bixby Sunoco on Refugee Road in Columbus. The service station will receive a $22,000 bonus for selling the winner, according to the lottery.

Wallace also is the grandfather of six and great-grandfather of five. He indicated that part of his winnings will help fund trusts for his heirs.

Following mandatory withholding of taxes, Wallace, who selected the cash option payout, will receive a prize check for $7,865,000.
