A lottery Web site was opened Saturday calling for the eleven Mega Millions state lottery directors to add the "Megaplier" feature to the game in all Mega Millions states.

Currently, the Megaplier feature is only available to Texas players.

According to the Web site, Megaplier.com, the Megaplier costs $1 per play board, and gives the player a chance to multiply all non-jackpot Mega Millions prizes by up to four times.

Powerball multi-state lottery players have had this option for years with the Power Play feature.

The Megaplier was created last year when Texas joined the Mega Millions game, but so far has only been available to Texas players.

Megaplier.com created an online petition, which allows people to electronically "sign" their name, location, and a brief comment.  The site organizers will send the petition to the eleven Mega Millions lottery directors.

Megaplier is similar to the Powerplay feature associated with the Powerball lottery game. I've never played the Powerplay feature with Powerball and doubt that I will play the Megaplier.

time2win:  Lottery players should always opt for more choices rather than fewer.  Who knows?  You may change your mind in the future and decide that want to try to multiply your prizes.  If you don't fight for your options now, you'll never get the choice in the future.

It's kind of like Cash Only's quest for all lotteries to allow a cash option for all games.  You may personally choose the annuity, but doesn't it make sense for everyone to have the choice?
