The Connecticut Lottery Corp. is shutting down its system statewide on Sunday to upgrade its software system.
Lottery retailers will not be able to generate or cash lottery tickets on Sunday until around 7 p.m., when the conversion is expected to be complete.
Lottery spokeswoman Diane Patterson said customers should try to purchase tickets on Saturday for Sunday's games.
The installation will not affect Sunday's lottery game drawings for Play 3, Play 4 and Cash 5. The winning numbers for Saturday's drawings will be posted on the lottery Web site and available by telephone.
In addition, winning tickets with prizes valued at $600 or more cannot be cashed on Saturday at any lottery retail location due to the system upgrade.
The lottery is installing the Games Management System, which is also used in South Carolina, New Hampshire, Iowa, Vermont, Arizona and Maine.
