Mega Millions

The ticket worth $239 million in last month's Mega Millions lottery wasn't the only winner, as public schools got more than $11.5 million.

Virginia lottery retailers sold more than 26 million tickets. State law requires all profits go to public schools.

"When the excitement builds for a Mega Millions jackpot, Virginia's public schools benefit," said executive director Penelope W. Kyle.

Lottery officials say last year, schools received more than $375 million.

Meanwhile, the winner of the jackpot has not come forward. The deadline is 180 days from the winning date of February 20th.
