California Couple Claims Half of $42 Million Lottery Prize

A Redding, California couple will hold a press conference today in which their $21 Million California SuperLotto Plus prize from last Wednesday's drawing will be announced.

The winners, who chose the cash option, will receive a lump sum payment of $11,533,457.04 (before a 25% Federal Withholding is taken out).

The winning ticket was purchased at the Circle K on Hartnell Avenue in Redding, California.  The winning numbers were 17, 47, 44, 29, 2 and Mega number 5.

The Circle K store will receive a commission of $105,000, or one-half of one percent for each winning ticket, for selling this jackpot-winning SuperLotto Plus ticket.

The winning couple is reported to be embarking on a trip to Australia.
