Powerball

Powerball tickets are the perfect stocking stuffer this holiday shopping season for lottery players across the nation. The reason? Powerball has the largest current lottery jackpot in the world.

There were no Powerball jackpot winners Wednesday but 706,567 players across the nation won a total of more than $6.1 million in prizes in America's Game.

Because no one correctly matched all six numbers in Wednesday's drawing the jackpot will grow to an estimated $116 million.

This is the fourth time this year and the fifth time in the last thirteen months that Powerball has reached the $100 million mark.

The cash option for the Saturday, December 20 drawing will be an estimated $62.5 million.

The numbers drawn were: 15, 18, 19, 21, 43, and the Powerball was 7. The Power Play multiplier was 5.

Seven players correctly matched the 5 white numbers and won $100,000. The tickets were sold in Connecticut, Indiana, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, and Pennsylvania (2). One of the winning Pennsylvania players purchased the Power Play option. By spending the extra dollar they were able to multiply their prize by 5 for a total win of $500,000.

Fifty-one players matched 4 white numbers plus the Powerball and won $5,000. Six of those players purchased the Power Play option, giving them a total win of $25,000.

More than 73,000 winning Powerball players multiplied their prize by 5 Wednesday. They were able to do that by purchasing the Power Play option for one dollar. With Power Play you can multiply your winnings, except for the jackpot. At the beginning of each drawing a wheel is spun to select that night's multiplier.

This current jackpot run started with the Saturday, November 8 drawing. The drawing on Wednesday night was the 12th consecutive draw without being hit. More than 4.7 million Powerball players across the nation have won a total of more than $43.8 million in cash prizes since this jackpot run started in early November.

Players purchased more than 23.5 million tickets between Sunday and Wednesday night.

The lotteries sold $1.6 billion in Powerball tickets in 2002. That translates into more than $480 million for worthwhile state projects.

I wonder if the powerball jackpot will rollover into 2004 and make a new jackpot record in the early part of 2004.  If it does I hope that their is only one winning ticket and the winner is .........................

CASH Only

Someone who will choose the CASH.
