Powerball

For the second time in four days Powerball paid off big for a player in Indiana.

On Saturday a $190.9 million jackpot was split between two tickets; one purchased in Indiana and one in Minnesota.  Wednesday night's $10 million jackpot was the 30th Powerball jackpot win for Indiana.  There have been a total of 175 jackpot winners in the history of Powerball.

The winning ticket holder for Wednesday night's draw now has a choice to make.  They can take the $10 million annuity, which will be paid out in 30 payments over 29 years.  Or, they can choose the cash option worth $5.2 million.  The ticket holder will have 60 days after the ticket is validated to make that decision.

In addition to the jackpot winners, 285,933 other players across the nation won a total of almost $2.7 million in prizes in America's Game.

The numbers drawn were: 8, 19, 22, 34, 53 and the Powerball was 29.  The Power Play multiplier was 3.

Five players correctly matched the 5 white numbers and won $100,000.  The tickets were sold in Colorado (2), Kentucky, South Carolina, and Wisconsin.  One of the Colorado winners and the winner from South Carolina purchased the Power Play option.  By spending the extra dollar those players multiplied their prize by 3 for a total win of $300,000.

Twenty-four players matched 4 white numbers plus the Powerball and won $5,000.  Two of those players purchased the Power Play option, giving them a total win of $15,000.

More than 37,000 winning Powerball players multiplied their prize by 3 Wednesday.  They were able to do that by purchasing the Power Play option for one dollar.  With Power Play you can multiply your winnings, except for the jackpot.  At the beginning of each drawing a wheel is spun to select that night's multiplier.

Players purchased almost 12 million tickets between Sunday and Wednesday night.

The jackpot for the Saturday, November 1 drawing will be $10 million with a $5.2 million cash option.

The lotteries sold $1.6 billion in Powerball tickets in 2002.  That translates into more than $480 million for worthwhile state projects.

CASH Only

There have been consecutive PB drawings with jackpot hits. I bet this is the first instance of the same PB member producing jackpot wins in two straight draws.
