Powerball

Powerball paid off big Saturday night for two winning tickets; one sold in Indiana and one sold in Minnesota. The winners will split a $190.9 million jackpot.

The $190.9 million dollar jackpot is the tenth largest jackpot in lottery history. It ranks as the sixth largest Powerball jackpot ever.

Each ticket holder will have to decide if they want the $95.4 million 29- year annuity or the cash option worth $49.7 million. The ticket holders will have 60 days after the tickets are validated to make that decision.

In addition to the jackpot winners, 1,333,936 other players across the nation won a total of more than $8.6 million in prizes in America's Game.

The numbers drawn were: 6, 17, 45, 47, 48, and the Powerball was 4. The Power Play multiplier was 3.

Eleven correctly matched the 5 white numbers and won $100,000. The tickets were sold in Colorado, Iowa, Kentucky (3), Louisiana, Missouri, Oregon, Pennsylvania (2), and Rhode Island. None of the winning players purchased the Power Play option. If they had spent an extra dollar they would have multiplied their prize by 3 for a total win of $300,000.

Eighty-seven players matched 4 white numbers plus the Powerball and won $5,000. Four of those players purchased the Power Play option, giving them a total win of $15,000.

More than 105,000 winning Powerball players multiplied their prize by 3 Saturday. With Power Play you can multiply your winnings, except for the jackpot. At the beginning of each drawing a wheel is spun to select that night's multiplier.

This 16-draw jackpot run started with the Wednesday, September 3 drawing. More than 8.5 million Powerball players across the nation won a total of more than $73 million in cash prizes during this jackpot run.

Players purchased more than 50 million tickets between Thursday and Saturday night.

The jackpot for the Wednesday, October 29 drawing will be $10 million with a $5.2 million cash option.

The lotteries sold $1.6 billion in Powerball tickets in 2002. That translates into more than $480 million for worthwhile state projects.
