A New Jersey man collected a $3 million lottery jackpot just two years after he won more than $730,000 from another game.
Eugene Martellio of Vineland has been playing New Jersey Lottery draw games and scratch-off tickets for many years. When the $3,000,000 CA$H OUT Scratch-Off game was launched, he purchased a few of the tickets for that game, but he didn't have much luck. This game appealed to him, though, and he decided to give it another try.
When he purchased the ticket, he felt like this, too, might not be a winner, so he just scratched off the barcode and used the counter scanner to see if it might be a winning ticket. When the scanner didn't show the results, he brought it to the clerk to check. She put on her eye glasses and could hardly believe what she saw — Eugene's ticket was a top-prize winner worth $3,000,000 — the first of the game's jackpots to be found.
Eugene Martellio was no stranger to winning with the New Jersey Lottery: this was his second jackpot win, but definitely his biggest yet. In 2017, he had won the Jersey Cash 5 April 18th jackpot worth $730,361.
Eugene said he had put much of his Jersey Cash 5 jackpot win into savings and he will do the same with the money from this $3,000,000 CA$H OUT Scratch-Off game win. He enjoys playing Lottery games and, now, he has his sights set on a third big win in three years for 2019 — perhaps Mega Millions or Powerball will be next.
Eugene's lucky $3,000,000 CA$H OUT ticket was purchased at Dante Car Wash on 2375 Dante Ave., Vineland in Cumberland County. Currently, two top prizes for the game are still available.
New Jersey Lottery players claimed more than $99.2 million in prizes playing scratch-off games in February.
