URBANDALE, Iowa — The Board of Directors of the Multi-State Lottery Association elected May Scheve Reardon, executive director of the Missouri Lottery, to serve as Board President for fiscal year 2019. Reardon will take over the Board President position from Rollo Redburn, executive director of the Oklahoma Lottery, on July 1, 2018.

"MUSL continues to enhance security, train staff and contribute to lottery excellence in the industry," said Redburn. "I have every confidence in our new Board President, May Scheve Reardon, and in our officers and the entire Executive Committee, that they will continue to be inclusive and emphasize openness and communications with the entire Board of Directors."

"The Multi-State Lottery Association is rooted in the collaboration of jurisdictional lotteries," said Reardon. "We will continue to work with our member lotteries, licensee lotteries and international partners to protect our brands and build upon the success of our world-class products."

The Board of Directors also elected Charlie McIntyre, executive director of the New Hampshire Lottery, and Angela Wong, executive director of the Montana Lottery, to serve as Board Vice President and Secretary, respectively.

In addition, the Powerball Product Group elected David Barden, CEO of the New Mexico Lottery, and Terry Presta, executive director of the Kansas Lottery, to serve as Game Chair and Vice Chair, respectively, for fiscal year 2019.

"Our lottery leadership has excelled at positioning Powerball as the top jackpot game and most recognized lottery brand in the world, a brand that strengthens with each jackpot," said Barden. "To continue this success, it is important to embrace change while continuing to ensure the integrity of the game. Technological advances, such as mobile devices, provide enormous opportunities for additional revenue and growth for lottery beneficiaries."

The Multi-State Lottery Association is a non-profit, government benefit, voluntary association that is entirely owned and operated by its 36 member lotteries. Each MUSL member lottery offers one or more multi-jurisdictional lottery games administered with the assistance of MUSL. All profits are retained by the individual lotteries and are used to fund projects or purposes approved by their authorizing legislatures.

May they all have fair winds at their backs with smooth sailing.

I think that they understand the importance of Lottery players. Without them, there would be no MUSL. Customers come first.

If they would pay the jackpot in a lump sum instead of lying to us (resulting in a 40% haircut on 29 years of interest), they would have more credibility in my book.

Down with LIAR jackpots!!!
