Matthew Spaulding is the first lucky winner in a new Massachusetts State Lottery game.

The Rockland, Massachusetts, resident is the first to claim the $4 million prize in the state's "100X" instant ticket game, which began in mid-June.

Spaulding claimed his prize this month, opting for the one-time payment of $2,600,000. He told lottery officials he plans to use a portion of the winnings to care for his mother.

Four $4 million prizes and 14 $1 million prizes remain in the "100X" game, lottery officials said.

The winning ticket was purchased at Route 18 Superstore, on Washington Street in Abington. The store will receive a $40,000 bonus for Spaulding's big win.

The odds of winning a $4 million jackpot in the $10 game are more than 5 million to 1.

How supremely noble Matthew. l however am going to " hold your feet to the fire" Matt, that you will follow through, and hope that this was not some knee jerk response to a question from the press or friends.

* l recall reading about Chris Bosh attempting to " evict" his Mother from a House in Texas.

.... and Pernell “Sweet Pea” Whitaker's succeeded in evicting his Mother of 73 years of age from a house which he gave her nearly 30 years ago.

  • All l am saying is, l hope you keep your promises.

Chris Bosh won the lawsuit to evict his mother. She had illegal drugs there and blamed it on one of the tenants to whom she rented. A bad news relative is bad news and sometimes tough love is best. He could have been cited as well due to the criminal conduct.

A lottery winner of major jackpots must apply tough love to all who request money. Hire professional help like a Financial Adviser to say NO. Start thinking like a multi-millionaire.

Cool

In no way am l condoning the actions that took place under Bosh's roof in Texas. What l am " saying" is if you throw family out, where do they go? Saying " l don't care" is inconceivable. If a family member is an alcoholic or hooked on drugs, you get them help, you don't say " tough love." At the very least- get her into a one bedroom apartment. That's the problem with a majority of people today, they just don't care. We talking family here, whether there is little or no love left. They are STILL Family! After the courts sided with Pernell in getting his home back, he said it was a " beautiful moment." Many of these folk start & end their day on their knees thanking the Lord for all the good he has done...

Just saying.

Just say No like Nancy Reagan said to do with drugs.

Second letter came from Massachusetts State Lottery, same as last week.  They're reactivating Mass Cash.  Myself put on their FB to please bring it back.  Well in the fine print it says will only be mailed to Massachusetts addresses.  That is new.  Will call them and ask about Megabucks Doubler and I have a friend get me my Lucky 4 Life Season Tickets.  Perhaps the rules have changed like VA, MD and NY that only mail to those respective state addresses.  But it's OK, they won't get my money to a loyal homeboy like me.

My two California LP friends noise-gate and music* always bring a smile to my face.

Now back to business, MA lottery states you CAN play Megabucks Doubler/Mass Cash out of state, must use a credit card as they won't take a check.  Five weeks free for one year on Mass Cash; maybe still seven weeks from on Megabucks Doubler---I didn't check.
