BATON ROUGE, La. — The Louisiana Lottery Corporation drawing show that aired on television on March 12 showed the wrong numbers for Pick 3 and Pick 4, the corporation announced.

The correct Pick 3 winning numbers for the drawing are 0-4-7. Additionally the correct Pick 4 winning numbers for the drawing are 3-1-8-4.

Both sets of numbers were correctly displayed on Lottery Post's Louisiana Lottery Results page, despite the wrong numbers appearing on TV.

The TV show incorrectly reported that the Pick 3 numbers were 1-1-1 and the Pick 4 numbers were 2-2-2-2.

"While our rules clearly state the audited winning numbers are controlling in situations like this, the Lottery deeply regrets the error and the inconvenience it caused players who rely on the show to get the winning numbers," Lottery President Rose Hudson said.

According to the Louisiana Lottery Corporation, there are several checks in place to ensure the accuracy of the drawing show, produced locally by Louisiana Public Broadcasting. After verified by a legislative auditor and a Louisiana Lottery drawing official, the official drawing results are sent via fax to LPB and confirmed via telephone prior to the show, which is standard procedure that is followed and was followed on Mar. 12.

Hudson said that viewers who watch the drawing on television should check their tickets.

This must have been some brain dead genius's idea of an early April Fools joke at the TV station that broadcast such preposterous numbers; triple 1s in Pick 3 and quad 2s in Pick 4 in the same draw, LOL

As we all know: LP doesn't get its Lottery Results from Television!

Even though that combination has the same chance of winning as 047/3184, this combination would seem very suspicious to me, and I would be checking numerous lottery websites to make sure that those results were accurate.

I remember when Virginia drew 3-6-9-12-15 in their Cash 5 game (6/28/13 day drawing). I was in disbelief at first ...

Am I missing something? But it sounds to me like the Louisiana lottery draws the numbers behind the scenes and then shows what I assume is supposed to be a live drawing. Which it is obviously not if they are confirming the results prior to the show.

I just checked their website...

Why do you no longer conduct live drawings?
The Louisiana Lottery discontinued live drawings for its draw-style games in 1998, ahead of a current industry trend toward automated drawings. There were several factors that contributed to the decision to convert to the automated drawing process now being used. Producing live drawings is extremely cost-prohibitive. The Lottery's need to soundly manage its operating costs outweighs the entertainment value that live drawings provide. Secondly, the Lottery does not pay television stations to carry the Lottery's winning numbers broadcast. With up to five different drawings being conducted nightly, airing live drawings would require a significant increase in air time from participating television stations who could otherwise sell the time to advertisers.

Drawings are held at approximately 9:30pm.

When are the drawings results aired?
Lotto: Wednesday and Saturday nights at 9:59 p.m., except Christmas Day.

Easy 5: Wednesday and Saturday nights at 9:59 p.m., except Christmas Day.

 3. The Lottery's Website. You can check winning numbers often as soon as 30 minutes following the drawing, but sometimes as late as midnight, depending on the number of drawings that occur that evening. Winning information goes through an extensive verification process before being posted to the website. Winning information for all drawings that have taken place in the past is also available here.

Why does it take so long to verify the winning numbers?  That's what you get with computer draws.

You and me both.  It seems like, and probably was, simply a place holder of some sort.  I think the telephone verification on that one failed to take place, or someone failed to swap out a default placeholder image, or something.

My real question is though, does anyone actually bet 111 and 2222 type numbers?  That just seems silly :)
