Mega Millions

ATLANTA, Ga. — Georgia Lottery officials are trying to solve the case of the missing millionaire. Half of a $15 million jackpot won in Georgia remains unclaimed.

The outstanding ticket, worth approximately $7.5 million, is one of two that split the July 22 Mega Millions jackpot prize.

Kroger #0634, located at 8876 Dallas Acworth Highway in Dallas, sold the lucky ticket. The second ticket that shared the jackpot prize was purchased in Virginia.

Georgia winners have 180 days from the draw date to claim Mega Millions prizes.

Georgia Lottery players have a chance to win big this week with Tuesday's Mega Millions jackpot at $20 million and Wednesday's Powerball jackpot at $136 million.

Earlier this month William and Heather ten Broeke of Atlanta came forward as winners of a $246.8 million Powerball jackpot.  (See Georgia couple claim $246.8 million Powerball jackpot, Lottery Post, Oct. 6, 2016.)

I hope they are getting things in order and have the ticket at a safe place. Nice win!

(Address where sold looks like a winning number 8876)

Hate to say it but it is most likely another lost ticket. I can't see the winner taking this long for a base jackpot prize that was split 2-ways. If it was $100 million or more than it would make more sense.

I don't understand the article.  Says ticket was split between TX and VA and yet GA is involved?  That's where MM drawings take place if I'm not mistaken.  Maybe they meant to say a three way split.  Nap time I guess.

Texas was never mentioned...ticket was sold in Dallas, GA.

Looks like after 180 days that other winner will receive the full jackpot.  I know what that person is wishing for.

I don't think they will be entitled to the full amount. Another similar scenario played out with two guys from Michigan who had one of the winning tickets and the other winning ticket was never redeemed. They tried suing to get the other half of the jackpot but to no avail.

Hopefully it's not lost, but you're most likely correct.

The unclaimed winnings will be returned to the States that play MM. Lurking

It does say in the story purchased at a Kroger #0634 address #'s Dallas (something st), in Dallas But didn't say GA after so your not as tired as you thought, If something says Dallas I would think TX also! Or Maybe you are sleepy Bed

I think the same person has both winning tickets. Because NEITHER of the winning tickets from that drawing have been cashed yet. The stores they were purchased at are only about 9 hours apart. (The Other ticket was sold in Va.)  I'm thinking a Truck driver or someone visiting family has both tickets. Who knows.. I might have them! Go, Me !!!!!!!

Neither of the winning tickets from that drawing have been cashed. (The other ticket was sold in Va.) So, what do you think the odds are of both tickets being lost ?
