With the record Powerball Jackpot climbing into the billions, Rebecca Hargrove, President and CEO of the Tennessee Lottery, decided to tackle the issue of the billboard's inability to display an amount that great.
Yesterday, with the help of a bucket truck and an outdoor crew, Hargrove changed 'Million' to 'Billion' to reflect the world-record jackpot that is now an astounding $1.5 billion.
The Powerball jackpot has continued to increase from its initial Sunday morning estimate of $1.3 billion, to $1.4 billion on Monday, and then again to $1.5 billion on Tuesday.
The newly-revised billboard is the only such sign in Tennessee 'retrofitted' to display the growing Powerball jackpot that will be drawn Wednesday night.
