Starting this Sunday, Connecticut lottery players will have a new "ALL IN" option on the state's 5 Card Cash game offering the chance to win bigger instant prizes, including a new progressive jackpot.
5 Card Cash — now renamed "5 Card Cash with ALL IN" — is a poker-themed game that has become popular in several states and provinces throughout North America in the past few years. The game mixes an instant-win component with a traditional drawing.
Players who purchase a $2 ticket find out instantly if the playing cards shown on their ticket match any of the classic poker wining hands, from a pair of Jacks or better up to a Royal Flush. In Connecticut, players can also win a free ticket by matching a pair of 5s.
In the daily drawing, which takes place at 1:57 PM Eastern Time, 7 days per week, players can win by matching 3, 4, or 5 of the playing cards on their ticket to the five playing cards drawn. The top prize of $255,555 is won by matching all five cards.
Connecticut, which has an A+ rating on Lottery Post's State Lottery Report Card, uses a real lottery ball drawing to choose the winning numbers.
The new ALL IN option that is available starting Sunday, October 18th, can be purchased for an extra $1 per play (for a total of $3 per play). A player can verify that the ALL IN option is active when "ALL IN = YES" appears on their game ticket. Players will also be able to purchase a basic 5 Card Cash ticket without the ALL IN option for $2 per play.
ALL IN players with a Royal Flush, Straight Flush, Four of a Kind, Full House, Flush, Straight, or Pair of 5s "Instant Win" hand automatically win more — up to 100% of the Progressive Jackpot, which starts at a minimum of $10,000.
The ALL IN option only changes the instant-win portion of the 5 Card Cash game — the daily drawing component is the same with or without the ALL IN option.
The overall odds of winning any 5 Card Cash with ALL IN prize (with or without the ALL IN option) are 1 in 4.1.

Does KY use balls for their Five Card Cash game? Somehow I believe it is RNG, but not sure.

Connecticut is the only US poker game to use real ball drawings. In Canada, Ontario and Quebec have real ball drawings for their poker games.

Bleudog101 just @ the Pilot gas station trash can diving for non-winning scratchers. Someone tossed out a $100 winner! I take the tickets home and when the Kentucky Lottery opens up for the Ultimate Second Chance drawing have quite a pile to enter into the computer.
It's Poker themed and they sell Ct lottery at the Ct casinos so why not have a real dealer at a real table flip the cards. I think it would help promote the game.
Good idea. Don't know about Foxwoods, but there are two stores @ Mohegan Sun that sell CT lottery tickets. Occasionally I'll post this on Las Vegas websites that their casinos should do the same. RI has a machine on the second floor of Twin River. Plainridge in Mass. has one, but it is in an obscure location. Belterra Park Cincinnati has two lottery machines side by side, one for scratchers and one for draw games. Do they hurt business? NO! My point of this rambling is Nevada casinos need to get over their stronghold of the legislature and allow folks to buy lottery tickets in Nevada. You would think they would and then it would keep people on their properties. Oh well!

KY lottery just sent me this very long indepth on how their RNG operates. I may never be a fan of RNG; however they have quite a few safeguards put in place. wish I knew how to forward it to LP.
