A Kentwood, Michigan, woman is $1 million richer after finding a winning Mega Millions ticket in a pile of old mail.
During a recent visit to the store, the clerk told Tuttle someone had won $1 million with a ticket that had been purchased at the store.
Tuttle then went home to check a pile of some old mail where she found the ticket, learning she was the big winner, according to the Michigan State Lottery.
Linda Tuttle matched the first five winning numbers in the May 26 Mega Millions drawing: 1, 39, 52, 69, and 72. She did not match that evening's Mega Ball number, 12, so she won the second prize of $1 million.
She claimed her prize on Tuesday in Lansing.
According to the Detroit Free Press, Tuttle planned to use some of her winnings to go to China and visit some former exchange students.

Thanks to wizeguy for the tip.
Sweet. ..
Perhaps I should go through my mail LOL!
Glad I don't let my tickets get old or put into a pile of mail !!!!
Kudos to you Linda...Nice QP !!!
That's why I almost exclusively play online, I'd lose my **** if I had to re-enact one of those "Where's the ticket?"- skits.
Missed out on the $214 million by one number
Those numbers have never done better than a 3+0 with PB, maybe there's a $267M PB jackpot winner among them.
It's a good thing she didn't get the ticket mixed in with junk mail. I hear of many people who simply throw junk mail away. Congratulations to Linda Tuttle on her new found blessings of wealth.
I hope she will be able to enjoy her new-found financial security in peace and quiet. I hope she won't be badgered by people looking for "help". If she is, I hope she is strong enough to resist such pressure.
Good luck to her!
Well that is good,I hope she gets what she never had before.
Those numbers matched 0+5 for $4 and 3+0 for $7 in tonight's PB drawing paying back more than half of what it would have cost to play them, that's better than the numbers I usually pick to play.
I hope she enjoys her reunion with the exchange students in China. She might be surprised about all the changes in China. Enjoy the flights.
Congrats to the winner
Old mail pile bad place to put your lottery tickets.
