Aleyda Montes de Oca, 54, of Key Largo, claimed the $21 million Florida Lotto jackpot — the biggest haul of the year so far — from the drawing held on April 28.

The $21 million Lotto jackpot is a bit of a rarity nowadays. Seven of the eight other winners so far this year have been under $10 million, and the eighth was "only" $12 million. Since Powerball came along, the jackpots aren't zooming up there as fast.

She bought her ticket at Tropical Supermarket, 28945 South Dixie Highway in Homestead. The store received a bonus commission of $70,000 for selling the winning ticket. The store has had 293 wins of $600 or more since 1993, according to the lottery database at Sun-Sentinel.com/lotteryData.

She chose to receive her winnings in a one-time, lump-sum payment of $14,472,660.99. The numbers were 1-15-22-27-31-43.

For a limited time only, players who purchase at least $5 in Florida Lotto tickets will have a chance to win additional prizes. Some will instantly win $50; all others will receive a voucher they can enter in the Gas for Life Promotion on the Florida Lottery's website. The Lottery is conducting weekly drawings where 50 players win Gas for a Month ($300) and five players win Gas for a Year ($3,600). All entries received by July 11 will be eligible for the grand prize drawing, in which one winner will receive $3,600 a year in gas cards for life or a cash option of $72,000, less applicable taxes.
