Over at the Powerball HQ they must be hating the crap out of the MegaMillions right now. So far their plans must not be going well for the last few months. This week is going to suck for them really bad.

I feel bad for the person(s) that will win this, that's a lot of attention. Just curious, I live in NY, can someone claim a jackpot like this anonymously in NY, or through a blind/living trust? $500,000,000 would be a blessing and a curse. Being the world's largest jackpot ever I would imagine the lottery officials would try evey legal way they could to make your identity known.

First off all, don't tell people what they should do and what may happen if they don't do what you want them to do. Many people can get a private number. When someone moves, no one who they have not told will know where they moved. I know people who don't even you use their real address now. Everyone is going to want an interview, but by the time the winner does it, he, she or they should be at a new location by then. There are new members everyday, so if the winner is here, it could be anybody. I'm banking on it being me, but unless people have the gift they won't know that.

What happens if two winning tickets are sold, but for whatever reason only one ticket is claimed?  After the other ticket expires, does the money go to the person who claimed the first winning ticket or does it go back to the states?
